Another good broadcast and hopefully informative one, which can now be seen in catch-up on the GameGuruLee page now. You can also catch earlier broadcasts from the same page, and for older broadcasts you can find them exported to the GameGuru YouTube channel.

The performance work has gone well this week, and we are now facing quite a lot of line by line donkey work before we can start to see things running again. As I will be enjoying myself at Develop Brighton next week the task falls to my tireless side-kick Ravey to start the process, and knowing him, probably finishing the process before I get back. Stage one is simply to convert the core engine to pure C++ while retaining 100% functionality of build 003, and once we achieve this we should see an immediate boost in speed. From there we proceed to stage two which will involve splitting the optimization work between us based on some profiling analysis and our own gut feel of what needs immediate attention.
If you are lucky enough to be attending the Develop Brighton conference, you can attend my speaker session during the Evolve Day (Tuesday 14th July) in Room 4 with the title ‘User Generated Content – Next Generation’ here: http://www.developconference.com/Content/Evolve-2015
With my broadcast duties completed, and a need for tea, I find myself wandering what to do next. I am leaning towards playing a few Steam games (a rare thing for me) and relaxing a little as this week has been pretty packed. Until my next blog (which might be as long as 10 days now) have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the broadcasts idea and do let me know if you want to see more of this.
