The beta release is finally ready! It will be a long journey, full of ups and downs, joys and sorrows, bugs, features, buffs, nerfs, and happy accidents. But I will reach the end and give you wonderful people a full release.
Today also marks the first Sunday of Advent. I thought today would be a fitting day to target the release for, as it's the first day of the liturgical year. Advent is a time of preparation, not just for the Feast of the Nativity, but also the Second Coming. I am reminded of a line of the prayer I say to St. Joseph before working:
...keeping unceasingly before my eyes death and the account that I must give of time lost, talents unused, good omitted, and vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God.
Even this game will be part of my account before God, at the end of time.
I invite you all to reflect on this during the Advent season. Will you be found ready, like the servant who was doing what he was instructed to do at the proper times? Or will you be found ill-prepared, like the man whose house was robbed?
Rather, "let us conduct ourselves properly as in the day, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and licentiousness, not in rivalry and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh." (Rom. 13:13-14)
