Hey folks!
This patch fixes various problems and improves various aspects of the game. Initially this patch was meant to be a smaller one, dubbed version 1.1.6, but as work on the main game continued, there were more and more improvements, fixes, and optimizations to be backported to the prologue project, which demanded a higher version bump to 1.2.0. Enjoy!
Visuals, performance & sound
- visual glitch fix related to lamp flashes
- bloom intensity tweaks
- UI color updates to keep things consistent with the rest of the UI
- CPU optimizations:
- improved camera panning performance to reduce hitching
- optimized NPC sight logic
- optimized NPC object memorization logic (technical: lamps and doors will now be memorized only when they can be considered suspicious, which should reduce hitching on low-end CPUs)
- pistol fire sounds updated
Gameplay
- evaluate best hunch time when considering turning on lights in low light areas to prevent distracting the AI from investigating sightings/hearings by turning lights off
- increased camera recoil on the Remington 700
- hints are now annoying to ensure that people learn more of the gameplay - can be disabled in the options menu or while the hint has popped up on screen
- added HUD prompts for weapon firemode switches
- Covert ops skill now influences lock picking speed
- enemies will now notice when their friends with no patrol routes go missing (within reason, of course)
- enemies will now react to opened garage doors
- gas now spreads through ventilation shafts (beware, as you can die within the vent shaft this way, too!)
- slightly increased the delay before goons start blindly firing upon becoming panicked
- use a different animation for when the player dies while prone
- goons that are chasing the player will now be more aware of where the player is if they notice a door that the player recently opened
- dialogue box text uses a slightly smaller font now
Fixes
- fixed various light effects not properly modulating the intensity of the light color
- fixed goons preferring to run towards grenades in some cases
- fixed goons needlessly swearing at opened doors even if they weren't suspicious
- fixed goons reacting to gas (they weren't supposed to be able to)
- fixed the inhaler charge display not fading out when the mouse is close to the HUD
- fixed unconscious goons' hitboxes acting as if they were conscious (they could be shot while unconscious without aiming at them)
- fixed various stat displays (damage, accuracy, rate of fire, etc.) in the loadout menu not updating when changing ammo or weapon mods
- fixed weapon deploy sounds being played when loading under some circumstances
- fixed ceiling lamp flashes being visible when flipping breaker boxes
- fixed a crash that could occur when the player was inside a vent shaft
- potential fix for incorrect rendering of modded weapon icons on old intel integrated graphics processors
