Hooray!
We are excited to announce that the long-awaited update has finally been released. The list of changes is massive, covering both visuals and reworked core game mechanics, including bosses, wave systems, and balance.
Let’s break it down.
New Content:
- New enemies. Exploding, shooting, and a few more surprises :)
- A new boss. Not just a damage sponge anymore but a well-designed boss for each location with unique abilities and AI.
- A new character - Berserker.
- Character abilities have been replaced. They’re no longer just "escape tools" but fully-fledged mechanics with unique damage potential.
- New Powerups.
- 3 new curses at the Altar. No more suffering only from Instadeath.
- Abilities now have a pass-through parameter that allows projectiles to pierce enemies, dealing damage without stopping.
Visuals:
- The entire color palette has been reworked. The game now has a stylish, contrasting look, with abilities standing out more against hordes of enemies, and colors and shadows looking prettier (really).
- Added SSAO. Shadows are now cooler!
- Many ability effects have been revamped, with improved impact feedback. Clearing waves now feels way more satisfying than before.
- The Cementery (base) location has been visually updated. The ground texture now matches the game’s style, map elements have been improved, and temples and altars no longer blind you with their brightness.
- Enemies now have realistic shades that match the environment of their respective locations instead of overly bright colors.
Balance:
- Abilities have been fully reworked. There are no more "useless" or game-breaking skills.
- Damage mechanics have been overhauled. The damage-taking system has also been replaced with a new one.
- The difficulty curve is now more consistent throughout the levels, with no sudden spikes.
Sound:
- Many horrible sounds have been replaced.
- Many not-so-horrible sounds have been replaced.
- New sounds have been added for abilities that previously felt "muted."
- New music: 8 awesome soundtracks.
Fixes:
- Numerous bug fixes, error resolutions, and crash prevention.
Other Updates:
- The game has been translated into 16 languages. Check if your language is supported on the store page.
- Added controller support (currently for XBOX only).
- Some abilities have been redesigned to make them more balanced (e.g., Ray Beams from the sky).
