Work is well underway on the next major content update for Afallon, planned to arrive at the end of January. This patch will be one of the biggest updates so far, laying important foundations for both gameplay and future content.
Below is a breakdown of what’s coming next and what the rest of 2026 will look like.
Major Content Patch End of January
Full UI Overhaul
The entire UI system is being rebuilt from the ground up.
Fully customisable UI
Move, resize, and adjust HUD elements freely
Designed to let players shape the interface to their own playstyle
This overhaul also improves clarity, consistency, and long-term flexibility for future systems.
Improved Character Controller & Camera
The character controller is being refined to better support an MMO-style gameplay feel, with stronger inspirations from classic MMORPGs.
Key changes include:
The camera will no longer auto-adjust after dodge rolling
Your character will keep facing the direction you choose
Using abilities will no longer force automatic direction changes
This gives you tighter control, more intentional movement, and better combat readability.
Ability Reworks & Combat Focus
A large number of abilities are being reworked.
Greater emphasis on single-target abilities
Clear targeting on your selected enemy
Less reliance on cone and AoE-only abilities
The goal is more precise, tactical combat, especially important for upcoming classes and encounter design.
New Quests & World Content
More quests and world content are being added across the game, with a major focus on Chillwind Heights, which is currently too barren.
New quest lines
More reasons to explore the area
Improved pacing and progression
New Starting Area: Chillwind Heights
A new starting location is being introduced, complete with intro quests set in Chillwind Heights. This offers an alternative beginning.
New Class: Assassin
A brand-new playable class arrives with this patch.
Assassin
Stealth-based gameplay
High single-target damage
Strong mobility and burst potential
Alongside the class, a new stealth mechanic is being added, inspired by classic MMO stealth systems.
New Character Options
Female versions of Humans and Dwarves will be added
This expands character creation and visual variety across the world.
