Understanding Zombies

Zombies are strong. To be more specific, they are unbeatable.
As no attack can stop them, and they keep reviving, it's not recommended to engage in direct combat with them.
Don't underestimate Zombies, and never let your guards down.

The strategy of fighting against Zombies has an extremely low survival rate.
Think of Zombies as obstacles to avoid, and always remain silent and behave cautiously.

Zombies show behavior patterns similar to those of living human beings.
Following their previous habits when they were alive as humans, they are mostly dormant during the night and active during the day.
However, be careful as there are some Zombies showing the opposite behavior at times.

Their primary activity is not very unusual.
They simply wander and attack when they detect living creatures.
At night, they fall asleep on the spot where they were standing, their backs bent as if they have fainted.
These sleeping Zombies won't get up even if you walk right next to them as long as you remain silent and don’t make any noise.

They still have sensitive hearing and will wake up if they hear nearby sounds.
You must make sure that no sounds are made around sleeping Zombies.
If you make no noise, you can move safely near the sleeping Zombies.

Zombies see with their eyes and hear with their ears.
Their ability to detect light is diminished, but like nocturnal animals, they can perceive things even in darkness without light.
Don’t hesitate to use flashlights; rather, consider them as tools to take the initiative and spot Zombies first.

Zombies' eyes gleam even in the dark.
Make sure to scan your surroundings to identify any shining eyes in the darkness or any Zombies sleeping quietly.
Survivors who carefully avoid Zombies have a much higher chance of survival compared to those who do not.

Zombies are highly sensitive to sounds.
Whether awake or asleep, they move towards the source of any noise.
Consequently, actions involving loud sounds such as running or fighting will attract Zombies, being surrounded by them, and put you in great danger.

To avoid encountering Zombies, you might lure Zombies in a specific direction by tossing items like bricks or empty bottles that make noise when they break.
Sometimes, even if you have a chance to obtain and use rare items such as guns, please exercise caution before using them.
Guns are not recommended unless absolutely necessary, as the loud noise they produce can attract a horde of Zombies.

Zombies only attack alive human beings.
It's unclear yet how Zombies distinguish between other Zombies and human beings.
They simply chase after and attack humans once they spot them.
You must be aware because Zombies may scream and attract more Zombies when they spot humans.

The good news is that you can deceive their eyes and ears and escape while they focus on their prey using their senses as humans would.
If you sprint away swiftly, you can create a great distance between you and the Zombies.
Utilize city alleys or covers to elude Zombies.
Zombies will wait for a while if they miss their target human beings before returning to their original positions.

When you end up fighting against Zombies, see their attack patterns and make decisions accordingly.
Zombies use three major ways to attack humans.

  • bare-handed attacks
  • grabbing and chomping
  • spitting out toxic substances

While most of the time they use bare-handed attacks, there are occasions when they attempt to bite or project toxic substances from a distance.
Each attack can be avoided with careful observation, but we recommend fleeing above all.

The reason why the Apocalypse couldn't be prevented anywhere else in the world wasn't solely due to its rapid spread but also the relentless revival of Zombies.
Zombified bodies regenerate quickly, even if their characteristics are greatly altered, making it extremely difficult to inflict lasting damage.
Even if you attack Zombies and make them collapse, they will rise again within minutes to resume their attacks.

In conclusion, attempting to "defeat" Zombies is not worth the risk involved.
That's why we recommend avoiding Zombies or run away from them rather than engaging in fights against them.

Zombies do not possess any special items.
All they have are the items they owned while alive or the clothes they are wearing.
The clothes have lost their value due to exposure to the elements over time, and there are very low possibilities for Survivors to find what they need from Zombies.

There is an urban myth that someone found a card key from a Zombie in a luxurious villa and went from rags to riches, but no official statement has been issued.
