Digging Into Your Feedback ✍️
We asked for your honest opinions, and you definitely delivered. We received around 650 completed survey responses, which gives us a fantastic, data-driven map of what is working and what needs immediate attention. You also sent us feedback through emails and on Discord server and Steam forum.
It seems we really hit the mark with the cozy vibe, as nearly 80% of you rated the graphics and art style as "Good" or "Very Good," making it the highest-rated aspect of the game! You also praised the music and sound effects. What’s important for us, the core farming mechanics also looks strong, with a solid 4.13 average score.
Of course, the data also highlighted the bumps in the road. You were clear that the inventory space fills up way too fast, and that the manual clicking required for crafting and harvesting is tiring. We also saw a strong trend regarding the underground levels: many of you felt that the mines were a bit too stressful and unbalanced compared to the relaxing farming on the surface.
Please know that fixing these optimization drops, quality-of-life issues, and balancing the underground experience are our top priorities moving forward.
Farm Animals 🐮🐷🐑🐔
A farm isn't complete without animals! 🐄🐖🐑🐔 That's why we’re currently working hard on the livestock mechanics, which weren't available during the playtest.
Build pens as big as you want and play your way!
Will you collect eggs and milk cows by hand or automate the process and send a Farmbot to do the job? 🤖 The choice is Yours!👩🌾 🧑🌾
Stay Frosty in the Mines 🧊⛏️
Speaking of the underground levels, we aren't just tweaking the balance. We want to make them interesting so we are actively expanding what you can discover down there!
Below is a very early, work-in-progress look at how these frozen depths are currently shaping up in the engine. You can expect freezing-cold surfaces, glowing icy flora, and entirely new types of resources encased in the frost. It brings a completely different atmosphere to your mining expeditions.
Naturally, a new biome wouldn't be complete without some new local residents. We are currently bringing the creatures of the frost to life, and we wanted to show off a quick peek at their animations! Isn't it a cute little critter? Ouch!
But not every creature looks so friendly. Some might be a little annoyed with your presence and they might have some sharp arguments for their case.
But don't worry - we are keeping a very close eye on your survey feedback. We are designing them to add fun variety and fresh drops to the game, rather than unwanted frustration. We also want to avoid the underground levels feeling boring and repetitive, with just the same dark, earthy environments and little life around.
