Hallo and salut ! First and foremost, we just want to shout from the rooftops a super THANK YOU to everyone who has downloaded the demo for 'Love and Country'. We’re floored by receiving such positive feedback and we really appreciate all of the comments and ratings. With that said, we’re excited to share with you what we have planned for the upcoming months as we gear up to release the full game.
What to expect (spoiler alert: it’s MORE):
- More story! There will be multiple unique paths for Lillian to take (both good and bad), with guaranteed laughs, intrigue, and a lil’ spice (🌶️).
- An updated UI with redone menu screens.
- More gorgeous art by our resident artist Juliana (follow her on @pr1nsass on Twitter and Instagram to see what she’s up to)
- More original score by the magnanimous Zachary Pinkham (check the [itch.io] game page for all his various socials)
- More accessibility: we’ll be adding alternate text for images and testing compatibility with screen readers.
All this will be coming in the late Summer/early Fall 2023. We’ll be sure to keep you posted in the meantime to let you know what we are working on, both here and on our socials (check out our dev page for those links there). Currently, we are finalizing the script, making sure it’s tight and right, and then we’ll be reaching back out to our translator buddies for the French and German sections.
Finally, we have had some inquiries about voice acting. It’s something we very much want to add, and really from the get-go we’ve discussed how we think it’ll really make the characters we created come to life. However, it’s also super important to us to pay our collaborators fairly. With that in mind, we will not be adding voice acting to this release. After the game’s release, we plan to launch a Kickstarter to raise the needed budget, so be sure to stay tuned for news regarding that!
That’s all for now, darlings! Take care.
Love,
