Hi, Gamers!
Tina here—Social Media Expert and Host at RolldBox Games. Today, I’m chatting with Ferran, one of our Co-Founders, as well as the Game Designer and Creative Director of the studio at RolldBox Games 👋
After 20 posts sharing how we’re building Masks of the Void, we think it’s time to dedicate one to you—the gamers.
Why? Because your feedback is absolutely crucial. Getting it helps us evolve and grow the game, so the experience is as exciting and engaging as it can be.
That’s our mission: to build with depth, with content, and to make sure you have a blast playing!
Inside the Development Process
In our last devlog, we gave you a sneak peek at how important playtests are for us and what we usually look at.
Today, we’re diving in a bit deeper! 💬
We run multiple playtests, with different people and different focuses, zeroing in on elements like:
The art, and how clearly it communicates what we want 🖌️
The gameplay, its progression, and overall flow 🎯
The user interface and how intuitive it feels 🖱️
The onboarding phase and how it’s perceived 🚪
The game’s essence, and how it unfolds 🗝️
… Plus many more insights we uncover just by watching you play!
And of course—we also play ourselves. Our dev team runs internal sessions with different goals, giving each other constructive cross-discipline feedback, so we can keep leveling up the experience.
We iterate – we test – we iterate – we test…
And in this cycle, everyone who’s taken part has helped us move forward in a big way.
So—thank you for that! 👥❤️
Sneak Peek of Upcoming Content
The characters bring the story behind the game to life—and one of the key figures in Masks of the Void is the Tyrant.
Who is he? Why is he here? What is his kingdom like?
You’ll uncover it piece by piece as you play, but here’s a little glimpse:
The Tyrant has been shaped by an iron will stemming from his childhood slavery.
What did he endure? What happened to him? His past has carved the path to his future! 🌕
