Hey,
As most of you probably know, my PC was sent in for repairs on the 24th of November, and since then I’ve been trying to create and post updates from my terrible laptop (terrible as in GTX 1050 and 8GB of RAM).
I received an update this morning saying: “We would like to inform you that the workshop is still awaiting parts for your product. As soon as the parts are received, the technician will continue the repair and we will provide you with an update.”
This basically means the chances of getting my PC back anytime soon are slim. I’m probably looking at another one to two weeks.
This affects the Christmas event. Even though I’ve worked on it and poured my heart into it, it’s not in the place I want it to be and it might feel a bit barebones. Everything I’ve done since the release of the reimagined version on October 29th has been me putting every single second of my day into the project, because I’m passionate about it and want it to be as good as possible.
You can expect the entire world covered in snow with festive themes, along with a set of tasks you’ll need to complete to make Krampus happy. I had massive plans for this update, and it was going to take Abnormality to another level.
It was set to include a major update with a handheld journal for evidence, an open mic feature, player customization (which may still be included, since it’s currently in beta testing), and a lot more. The update will still include some fixes, and the event will be there. It just won’t be as polished or up to the standard I feel you all deserve. But I still believe it’s better than nothing, and I’ve truly done everything I could to get this out the door. However, I promise an update in early January (assuming I have my PC back by then) with open mic, the handheld evidence journal, and much more.
Thank you all for supporting my game and its development. It has been amazing having it in early access so far, listening to your feedback, and shaping the game around your input. I truly appreciate every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks,
Patrick
