Hi everyone!
Soon the first week will have passed since the launch of Shadowveil: Legend of the Five Rings. The response has been amazing and seeing the community help each other out, strategize, think and execute their best expeditions in true Crab Clan spirit.
I cannot thank everyone enough, its been a true pleasure working on the game and the studio would love to continue supporting it.
On that note, I wanted to delve a bit deeper into what Palindrome have in store.
QoL and fixes
Our main priority since launch has been to monitor the game and Discord to catch crashes and bugs. With your help, we’ve identified and resolved many issues and already pushed the 1.0.1 patch with multiple hotfixes.
- Recent Fixes & Improvements:
- Fixed multiple crashes and stability issues
- Various hotfixes based on community reports
Full details of 1.0.1 can be found here (1.0.1 Patch Notes)
Beyond that the studio are monitoring feedback for QoL changes. Of course we have a multitude of things we want to tackle, but here are some of items that are on the top of our list
Upcoming QoL Features:
- Respec System – Reset and adjust your character builds.
- Persistent Game Speed – Your preferred speed settings will carry between battles.
- Always-Accessible Inventory – View stats & items anytime.
- …and more based on your feedback!
Steamdeck
Right now, Shadowveil runs on Steam Deck but lacks controller support, making some UI elements difficult to navigate.
Palindrome are committed to getting Steam Deck Verified, but this requires:
- ✅ UI & UX optimizations for better readability
- ✅ Full controller support
- ✅ Further performance tuning
For now, our top priority is stability and core fixes, but Steam Deck improvements will follow.
I want to be clear that this is a personal goal for me, so hang in tight, show us the support you can and the studio will work hard for it!
Content and DLC
While the studio are still exploring larger content updates, here’s what we can confirm is coming soon:
- 🧙 Unique portraits for all hero characters
- 🗿 Updated models for the Lost Library Guardians
- 👀 More ways to increase the depth of your strategies!
This is the most exciting avenue for Shadowveil but we are still in the early stages and can't promise much. Similar to the Steamdeck this is a larger undertaking that will take more time. I know how many of you want more cards, difficulty options or even a new Clan. But fret not I am in the same camp but it's to early to confirm anything. However make your voice heard, share the game, leave a review and if you have ideas please share them in the discord!
I hope this post shines some light on what Palindrome are working on and why. Again thank you for all support, the team and I are so happy about having such an amazing community.
We’d love to hear your thoughts! Join us in the Shadowveil Steam Discussion or in the Shadowveil Discord to share your feedback on future content.
If you’re enjoying Shadowveil, consider leaving a review, it helps us a lot!
Our wall still stands!
With love
