Hello everyone!
I've got another tidbit of StrikePose for you, our new in-house IK - FABRIK chain now supports bone stiffness!
This is a new mechanism that allows to prevent weird kinks and bends when solving bones, making them look much nicer.
This was implemented to make spine behave well for the Biped IK, I'll be integrating this soonish and continuing work the full body IK.
There's a few other goodies too! RaycastOne now has IgnoreHierarchy input!
There's a few new nodes for Black History Month & Halloween since it's coming up soon. More will come in the future!
Also a number of bugfixes for FFT and desktop sharing. Notably custom video streams *might* work on Linux now, so give it a try!
New Features:
- Added Start/End Stiffness support to FABIK chain
-- Start/End indicate the intensity of stiffness from the first iteration to the last
-- The higher the stiffness, the more will each bone move with its child bone during the solve
-- Effector driven bones inherit the effector rotation for stiffness computations
-- This is useful for the chain to maintain its shape and better distribute rotations and bending throughout
-- Chains with stiffness are somewhat more expensive to solve due to additional computations, but should generally be still quite fast
- Added "IgnoreHierarchy" to both RaycastOne and Raycaster to feature-match the RaycastDriver component (request @adreos, issue #6881, implemented by @bluecyro)
-- This allows you to filter out parts of the scene hierarchy you don't wish to test when performing raycasts.
- Added Sanitized User Username node (requested by @Art0007i, @jackthefoxotter, @shdw_x, @_deltawolf, @socksthefennec, issue #7266)
-- This provides a version of the username sanitized so if the user contains RTF tags, they won't get parsed
- Added IsBlackHistoryMonth(UK) nodes (@jeweltk, @kodufan, @reddneko, issue #7194)
-- The US/Canada/Jamaica variant is true during the month of February
-- The UK/Ireland variant is true during the month of October
- Added IsHalloween node (requested by @frooxius, issue #7218)
-- This will be true on the day of Halloween (October 31st)
-- It uses same method for AprilFools, where it stays true until Halloween is over at the US West Coast no matter your local system time - making it easier to celebrate and participate in US-events)
Tweaks:
- FFT_RealAnalyzer now has default OutputLength set to Half instead of invalid value (requested by @3x1t_5tyl3, @.fulgens, issue #7243)
-- Full length does give mirrored spectrum, which is usually not necessary
Locale:
- Merged Czech locale update by @vassterak and @rampa_3
- Merged English locale fixed by @vassterak
Fixes:
- Fixed an issue with the `/changeUsername` command that prevented previous names from being freed up for re-use in some cases. (issue #7227, implemented by @dante)
- Fixed reverse mode for (Async)ForEachWithIndex not working correctly (reported by @3x1t_5tyl3, @shisosans, issue #7242)
- Applied potential fix for MediaMTX crashing on graphical Linux client (reported by @reddneko, ssmucny, @bredo, mxjessie, @kibblestherexouium, @kyuvulpes, @fundale8845, issue #6863)
-- Fix suggested by @fundale8845
-- Resonite will try to run MediaMTX under proton by default with this
-- This means that you should be able to use custom video stream on Linux
- Fixed Desktop Screen Sharing & Custom Video Stream button not resetting when sharing fails due to permission (reported by @fundale8845, issue #7255)
