Hello everyone! This build was meant to go out yesterday, but it got a bit delayed.
Here's some more progress on ResoniteLink! Uri & empty fields (like node outputs) are now supported!
You can now also import textures through ResoniteLink! Both from a file and by sending the raw texture data. More asset types coming soon!
The permission system was also improved - by default ResoniteLink requires Builder level permissions to enable. You can also configure this for your worlds and optionally allow read-only access (or write-only, but that usually doesn't make too much sense) for any roles.
Also shoutout to @zozokasu, @bredo and @earthmark for their contributions to ResoniteLink library! If you'd like to contribute too, check out the repo here: https://github.com/Yellow-Dog-Man/ResoniteLink
New Features:
- Added support for importing 2D textures through ResoniteLink
-- This can be done either through a file or by sending the raw texture data
- Added support for Uri datatype to ResoniteLink (based on report by @orange3134, issue #6107)
- Added support for empty members to ResoniteLink (based on report by @orange3134, issue #6108)
-- These are any elements that don't contain data model data, but still need to be referenced by other data model elements (e.g. node outputs)
Tweaks:
- ResoniteLink will now accept out of order $type property (based on feedback by @earthmark)
Security:
- Added ResoniteLinkPermissions to control ResoniteLink permissions in the world (based on report by @zenuru, security ticket #521033)
-- You can control read/write access with ResoniteLink through this for your worlds
-- Existing worlds are auto-upgraded to only allow ResoniteLink if the host is Builder/Admin. If host is restricted to lower permissions, ResoniteLink is not allowed to be enabled
-- Note: If the world has modified the permission Roles, the auto-upgrade might not work and will require manually settting up those permissions
-- Also a reminder that using mods to circument session moderation is not allowed:
