Hello raiders!
Here we are with a new dev diary about the features of the newly released patch, as we wait for v 1.0.
Using Version 0.9, which we released on March 20th, as a baseline, we have introduced several new features that you will find in this new patch, and which will be further expanded in the final version of the game.
First of all, we have finally replaced the AI-generated voices with the official in-game voices. Without losing sight of the lore, which tells of hybrid beings such as the raiders, we made this choice to guarantee you a fully complete narrative experience.
Next, two major changes regarding ship speed. First, we have increased the overall speed of the ship. From now on, you will perceive faster movement, addressing one of your main pieces of feedback.
Furthermore, we introduced a new boost mechanic, complete with consumption and recharge, while also increasing the boost speed. This means you will be able to go faster, but you will have to keep an eye on the boost consumption gauge.
We have also revamped the Colossus' arrival in Prometheus and the subsequent chase. This means we have added two new cuts, altering the narrative, and making the Colossus more central to that specific moment of the game. We made this choice also in view of the narrative closure of Hell Galaxy's story, which you will find in v 1.0.
There are many more new features, which we summarize below.
New Features
New voices Replaced AI voices with human voices.
New speed Increased the overall ship movement speed to ensure greater responsiveness and agility during gameplay.
New boost mechanic Introduced a new boost mechanic with consumption and recharge. Additionally, maximum boost speed has been increased.
Weapon overheating adjustments Tweaked the overheating mechanic to make its progression more controllable and to avoid some data issues.
A new chase with the Colossus Introduced two new cuts of the Colossus in Prometheus and introduced the Colossus during the chase.
Game difficulty overhaul As anticipated in previous dev diaries, we have overhauled the game difficulty progression and made difficulty selection easier.
Module progression overhaul We have overhauled the module progression in the game. Keep in mind that this might result in invalid ships in old saves according to the new parameters.
New VFX and animations We have added new VFX and animations in the first area of Hell Galaxy, Limbo, to make the world feel more alive.
A look into the future
In the patch you currently have in your hands, there are still areas of the project we are working on, particularly further difficulty balancing across the three introduced modes and, above all, gameplay areas where we haven't yet reached the level of optimization we want. These changes, along with the new system and colossi battles, will directly accompany the full version of the game.
Farewell, raiders!
