Hello raiders!
We’re emerging from the gloomy depths of the Galaxy of Neterun to share a new dev diary focused on the work currently in progress. It’s always a pleasure to connect with all of you out there and give you a glimpse behind the scenes of the design and development process as we continue working to create the best possible experience for Hell Galaxy.
At the moment, we are focusing on polishing one of the most mysterious areas in the galaxy, a completely new location filled with ancient Neterunian ruins that has not yet been released. From a progression standpoint, this area is one of the key locations in the main storyline, containing important traces of Neterun’s past. For this reason, we want to refine every detail, starting with the environmental storytelling, which here takes a very different direction compared to what you have experienced so far during your journeys across the galaxy.
This is an area where the alien aspect is especially pronounced, as you can already see from one of the earliest concepts created during the design phase.
You can already notice shapes and structures that raiders, surrounded by metal and rust, are not used to encountering. Without revealing too much, the area shown here was once inhabited by the Neterunians, the mysterious civilization of the galaxy whose remains now lie abandoned among the ruins.
Here is another concept showing one of the main structures of this new level, a key element of the local economy taken from one of our earliest production tests.
These are still early concepts and do not fully represent the final in game version of the area. Their purpose is to give you a first impression of what awaits you within these ancient ruins.
We also wanted to share some of the production stages that follow the concept phase, including the creation of the actual assets. Keep in mind that what we are showing here represents some of the earliest modules created for the Neterun environment, featuring different visual experiments developed using geometry nodes and modifiers.
The structure shown here represents an early version of one of the main points of interest you will encounter while exploring these ruins, a central element in the lore of the area. However, we do not want to reveal too much yet, because we want you to be the ones discovering the secrets hidden within this alien and hostile environment.
We hope this glimpse into the new area has sparked your curiosity. We can’t wait to show you more of what we are building for you and thanks to your continued support.
Farewell, raiders!
