Howdy, Gunslingers!
Your playtests, feedback, and bug reports have been absolute game-changers, and today, we’re rolling out our first patch based on everything you’ve shared with us!
Before diving into the details, a quick reminder:
💡 Using the in-game Bug Report tool is crucial! It sends us your save file, current session log, and even the previous session log, meaning if the game crashes or you restart, we can still access valuable info to track down the issue.
So, if your UI or game gets stuck, you can reload and send a report, to let us know what happened. We’ll check the logs and get to work!
🛠️ Major Fixes:
- Blessings & Modifiers: Many effects that weren’t applying correctly to Lucy are now working as intended. (Daredevil Blessing was indeed a scam 😅 our bad)
- Graphical Fixes: No more mysterious black bands on terrain and minimap for certain resolutions.
- Difficulty Adjustment: Max difficulty has been slightly lowered. Enjoy the (temporary) mercy!
- Improved Inventory Navigation: Mouse & Keyboard users will find it much easier to select and move items! This feature is still in testing tho, so it will probably be improved more with the following patches.
- Lichens Visual Update: We’ve given the Lichens a little makeover! They’re no longer hiding in plain sight, making it much simpler to gather the resources for those much-needed healing items.
- Rifle Rework: All rifles have been reworked, so now they actually feel like you’re shooting a classic Winchester, not a wet noodle.
- Gamepad Disconnection Handling: If your controller disconnects, the game will pause and smoothly switch to Mouse & Keyboard after your current action is complete. Now you have time to rage-throw your controller before grabbing your trusty M&K.
🐛 Minor Fixes & Tweaks:
- Quest Fixes: No more Grim Claws asking you to eliminate "0" bandits or dinosaurs. It should also prevent the UI from disappearing, but let us know the result.
- UI Anchoring: Like any wanted poster, floating UI elements are now properly pinned down.
- Loading Screen Glitches: Possible fix for screens getting stuck when transitioning between menus. This seems to happen rarely, but we've added a couple of logs to investigate further in case it isn't resolved. If your screen turns darker than Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon after returning to the main menu, please send us a bug report using the in-game tool.
- Looting Fix: Some items were playing hard to get: gathering them didn’t give you anything! Well, no more! You’ll actually get the loot you deserve when you pick things up.
- Tutorial Fixes: The Saltpit no longer self-destructs after gathering. it's not a secret message for James Bond, after all.
- Hovering UI Issues: Fixed invisible elements blocking clicks. There might be more sneaky ones lurking around! If your mouse starts acting weird, like not hovering or clicking properly because of some invisible force field, give us a shout!
- Missing Strings & Localization: More missing texts have been found and resolved. Keep an eye out for any that remain!
- Weapon SFX Tweaks: More Pew Pew Pew, less muffled gunfire.
- Video Settings Adjustments: Better real-time adaptation when changing resolution/display. Let us know if you see something strange happening (or not happening, lol).
- Widescreen Resolutions Removed: Sorry ultra-wide folks, balancing the game for that view would be too time-consuming, so black bars it is!
🚀 Features & Fixes moved to Backlog:
- UI Scaling System: We’re working on an optional UI scaling feature for better accessibility (especially for Steam Deck players). We’d rather not turn our game into a free eyeglasses giveaway with every purchase!
- Aim Assist Improvements: We know it’s not always perfect, and we are discussing possible improvements about the aim assist system with controller for future updates after the core game is complete.
Thank you all for your amazing support, this is just the beginning! Keep the bug reports and feedback coming, and we’ll keep making Dino Path Trail even better!
👉 Now go update, play, and let us know what you think! 🔥
