This update is mostly focused on increasing performance on lower end hardware. Many new options have been exposed in the settings menu. Side note, your texture quality setting may need to be updated as I finally fixed the reverse order issue*. Overall, everything should play the same, the game should just run smoother. Let me know if any issues come up!
Changelist:
- Added shadow quality setting
- Added pixel scale setting (divide screen resolution by this factor so pixels are bigger and the camera has less to render)
- Added toggles for ambient occlusion and dithering post process effects
- Add low quality physics toggle (this processes physics 30 times a second instead of 60)
- Fixed issue where generic "quality" setting would override texture, shadow, and other quality settings
- Enabled GPU instancing on a bunch of materials, hopefully nothing visual changed, just speeds up build
- Fixed issue where flashlight wasn't lighting up certain partially see through objects like the metal railings in Posh Penthouse
- Fixed Threat Indicator UI component being displayed over pause menu and game over menu
- Misc garbage collection issues cleaned up in enemy AI and NPC classes (gc causes random stutters sometimes, but this wouldn't affect framerate)
*The reason is because Unity exposes texture quality settings where 0 = full texture, 1 = half, 2 = quarter, etc whereas every other quality setting goes the opposite direction where they go from low to high. Reversing the order maybe have set your texture quality to low if you previously had it set to high (and vice versa).
