Some characters shape the world.
Vellum was the world — its breath, its rhythm, its law.
And now it’s unraveling.
Not in silence.
But in fragments, flickering through the ruins of what once held everything together.
🧠 Who Is Vellum?
Vellum wasn’t born. It was built not as a machine, but as a mind. An Ætheric Intelligence created to hold the balance of Corel, where essence and emotion shape reality. It governed not with control, but with quiet presence.
And for a time, it worked.
Under Vellum’s care, Corel held steady. Until the corruption came.
Now, all that remains is a splintered mind still watching, still remembering, unsure of what it has become.
🌀 What Happened to It
When Fading Echo begins, Vellum is already in collapse.
Its systems are corrupted. Parts of it have gone silent. Others burn too bright, sensing echoes of itself across the Echoverse. It speaks in riddles, forgets its own truths, and folds in on itself.
But it’s still here.
Something within it refuses to disappear. A thread of will, frayed but holding. It doesn’t know if it can be saved, only that Corel can’t survive without it.
If there’s any chance left, it starts with Vellum’s rebirth.
🔗 What Vellum Means to Us
Vellum doesn’t walk with you.
It is the path.
It shapes Corel’s shifting systems and guides you toward the unraveling at the heart of the world.
It’s not just a guide. It’s a reflection of the world’s deepest flaw and its last chance.
Because Vellum carries more than knowledge. It carries consequence. And every step it takes to help us brings us closer to truths we may not be ready to face.
Still, it remains.
Because somewhere in the dark, it still believes there’s something left to save.
