The Berry Update U17 Patch Notes:

The berry update brings berries, jam, a specialized berry harvester, variable yields + numerous quality of life and farm changes.
New Perennial Crops
ACRES now supports perennial crops, which regrow after harvesting but require specialized equipment. These crops can be selected in the seed menu below cover crops.

New crops include: Blackberry, Strawberry, Blackcurrant, Raspberry, Blueberry and Salak ( Snake Fruit).

Berry Harvester Implement

To harvest the new berry crops, use the new Berry Harvester Implement or the berry picker tool. The Berry Harvester is tractor-pulled, occupies one row, and preserves the main plant for subsequent harvests.
Jam Processor Building

Turn your harvested berries into sellable packaged goods with the new Jam Processor building. You can produce:
- Blackberry Preserves
- Blackcurrant Jam
- Strawberry Jelly
- Raspberry Jam
- Blueberry Jelly
Cottage Foods Permit

The Cottage Foods Permit, required for jam processing, can be unlocked in the license tab. Once unlocked, jam items will become available in incoming orders. Upgrade the permit to increase the number of jam items in orders.
Increased item order amounts
The amount of non-crop items (e.g., eggs, oils, jams) requested in orders now scales with the amount of acres owned and the current license level.
Tractor & Implement Changes

New Implement Horsepower Requirements
Implements now have horsepower requirements, requiring larger tractors for bigger and heavier implements. For example, 50 HP is required to use a 3 row disk plow and any tractor with more than 50HP is able to use it. Icons have been added to each implement's tooltip for a quick reference. As before if "Auto Select next available tractor type" is enabled in the game settings, choosing the tool we automatically use a capable tractor is the current one is not selected.
Tractor Speed and Cost Adjustments
Tractors have also received and increase in speeds and cost. Faster almost double speeds will help manage crops further down the rows easier.
The harvest wagon model pulled next to the harvesters also received a much needed update.

Variable Yields & Stress Changes
Crops no longer guarantee maximum yields. Yield outcomes depend on plant health and final stress levels. The potential harvest range is shown in the seed tooltip, with maximum yield at zero stress and minimum yield at high stress. The current stress level for each plant is displayed with a red bar in the bottom right menu under the crop's progress bar.

Stress also no longer reduces in each plant after being affected. Effects final yield amounts.
Land Area tools

New tools are now available to dynamically purchase and sell acres of varying sizes by drawing a box. Clicking once select the first corner and clicking a second time selects the opposing corner, finalizing the selection and attempts the action.
Additional Farm Changes
- Increased tax rates for larger farms

Thank you all for playing!
