Island Notes – New Version Delay Notice & Content Overview
Dear Players,
First of all, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has supported Island Notes .
As of this announcement, total sales have reached 21,568 copies, and what truly encourages us is that 5,305 players have logged more than 50 hours of playtime!
This level of dedication and love, along with enthusiastic recommendations from content creators across various platforms, is the greatest motivation for us to continue development.
Based on the game’s current positive momentum, opening the Steam Workshop is no longer a major issue (as the Workshop requires a certain player base). However, before officially launching Workshop support, we have decided to invest more time and effort into polishing the upcoming major update in order to deliver a more refined and complete experience.
As a result, we regret to inform you that the new version will be delayed.
Reasons for the Delay & Update Direction
The core of this update is a brand-new map and a completely new storyline.
This means that returning players will need to start a new playthrough. To ensure the new content is substantial enough to strongly motivate players to begin a fresh save, we have decided to spend additional time on in-depth development, with the goal of making the new version feel truly “refreshed and renewed.”
We have carefully reviewed and organized player feedback and suggestions from all platforms. This delay will primarily be used to expand and improve the following content, with a comprehensive overhaul of the NPC system as the top priority:
Core Content
A larger new map and a brand-new story: Explore unknown regions and uncover a new chapter.
New Systems
Mount System: Enables riding certain creatures, improving exploration efficiency and overall enjoyment.
NPC Evolution (Key Update)
Richer NPC interactions
Major combat system overhaul:
NPCs can use all weapons available to the player
Significant improvements to NPC combat AI and behavior logic
Greatly enhanced NPC effectiveness in combat and survival
New NPC characters, abilities, and voice acting: Introducing more diverse characters for a fresher and more immersive world
NPC animation rework: Comprehensive improvements to combat and interaction animations to enhance visual quality
Game Balance Adjustments
Global stat rebalancing: Systematic balance changes to items, monsters, and other in-game values.
New Challenges
New monsters: The new map is expected to feature 10 completely new monsters, bringing additional combat challenges.
Building Expansion
Expanded building modules: Offering a wider variety of construction components and possibilities.
We will release a new trailer showcasing the upcoming content as soon as possible and announce the updated release schedule shortly thereafter.
Apology
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this delay may cause to players who have been eagerly awaiting new content.
Polish takes time, but we firmly believe that this wait will ultimately result in a higher-quality and more content-rich Island Notes experience.
Thank you for your continued understanding, support, and patience!
