Welcome Talented Gamers!
We're hard at work on our second Talented DLC but we wanted to take the usual pit stop for a devlog and talk about something we've been working on that everyone can get there hands on in the 1.3 update.
Occasionally we get the very understandable feedback that, once all of the Abilities, Epics and Legendaries have been learnt the Talent Tree can begin to look quite bare. We have a few solutions lined up in 1.3 and we'll talk about 2 of them here!
Infinity Epics
We're introducing a new type of Epic Talent that will appear when the Class Specific pool is empty. These Epics can be learnt multiple times and are designed to stay relevent late into the game.
First up, we have old favourites D6 and The 1 Ring. Both of these remain strong by offering more power in the Common and Rare space.
That being said, we're aware that The 1 Ring's power fluctuates heavily based on what stage you learn it during a run. For that reason, we've added level scaling that should make it more useful into the mid/late game.
We're also adding 2 new Infinity Epics that will appear for all classes. We'll be watching feedback closely and we're happy to introduce more if this turns out to be a positive addition to your runs!
Deck of Fortunes allows you to pinpoint the Rare Talents you like and gain multiple copies of them.
Vault of Lore is perfect for those looking to zoom through the Talent Tree, collecting lots of these can lead to a sizable payout!
Lost Legendaries
Another quirk of Talented that gets pointed out from time to time - sometimes Legendary Talents never seem to show up on the Talent Tree even if you're certain you haven't learnt them. This problem persists no matter how many Portals you enter, and you can even eventually start to find Talent Trees with no Legendaries at all.
This is caused by the rules around Legendary spawning being different to that of other Talents. Currently (in version 1.2) if a Legendary Talent appears on the tree it will never appear again, even if you don't learn it!
We'll be changing that rule in 1.3. Now, if a Legendary appears on the tree and you don't find it, it will be returned to the pool of Legendaries that can appear when you enter a Portal. Overall this should mean you see a lot more Legendary Talents later into the run and you're likely to learn quite a few more as a consequence!
As we mentioned in the previous devlog, we're expecting this to be an increase in power that should help you to overcome the new Mastery Levels! But that's not all... Next time we'll be talking about some foundational changes to the Ability System that will give you even more build options...
