Hello Detectives!
It has been some time since the last update, but this is a big one!
Completely reworked story & new cutscenes
After receiving much feedback from you. I felt like reworking the entire thing. I've kept the basics intact (no big character changes) but the rest is a completely new experience!
And the cutscenes are now replayable via the options menu
Gamemodes are here!
Gamemodes are extra modes beside the normal way the game works (the way you're used to is now called "Default"). Before starting each case you will select one of the two new gamemodes (more coming later) or the default gamemode and after that you choose your difficulty. You do this for each case.
The gamemodes are:
- Guess-Lock - After selecting a value in the dropdown, it becomes disabled, meaning you can't change your selection (hard)
- Crimeroom-only - A easier gamemode, you only need to get the crime room correct to close the case
It's recommended to play the entire game in the default gamemode at least once, It's the way the game originally was designed to be played!
Steam Cloud Support
Finally, Who Did It? Has Steam Cloud support, meaning the game will syncronise your progress across your devices!
The Insane Challenge
For the first time, Who Did It? Receives a special challenge only meant for the best detectives out there!
To complete this special challenge: Close any case in the new "Guess-Lock" gamemode with the Detective difficulty selected.
Upon completion of this challenge you will get a special achievement and a badge in-game which you can see in your statistics page.
New Steam Achievements
Aside from the Insane Challenge, there are a number of new steam achievements added. Take a look at your achievements progress to find out!
Other smaller updates/changes:
- You can now replay cutscenes from the options menu
- Fixed the end-game summary for 1080p users
- Changed the year on the end-game summary card to 1977 instead of the current year
- Added gamemode specific statistics to the statistics screen
- Added new loading tips
- Removed the "quit game" ESC popup on the main menu
- Fixed many smaller bugs
The update is available now! If you have any issues regarding this update, please tell us via this form
That's it for now!
