Greetings from the Summoners War Dev Team!
Before we begin with today's dev note, we want to thank everyone for your incredible interest and support in the Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration.
This was our first time working with an anime, so it was exciting but also challenging. We were able to successfully carry out the collaboration thanks to our Summoners.
We'll be pushing forward to make more new and helpful updates to the game based on your suggestions and thoughts.
Now, let's get into our next exciting update, which includes the new 2nd Awakening Monster.
===================================================
▶ New 2nd Awakening Monster
First, take a look at the image of the new 2A Monster.
As you can see, the next Monster to join the 2A Monster family is [Harpu].
Unlike her original look, we tried to bring out more charisma and regal presence.
2A [Harpu] will be available as the third member of Dimension Lumel.
As you know, 2A not only enhances the Monster's look but also its skills. In this note, we will give you a sneak peek of the skill set of one of five attributes.
* This cooldown is based on the MAX skill level.
The dev team took extra attention to its third skill, [Violent Friends]. The skill is changed from attacking solo to attacking with other allies, which suits the skill name more perfectly.
We believe that this 2A will open up more strategic gameplay options for many of you and utilize the Dark Harpu, and other four attributes, even more in the battlefield.
With this update, we'll be increasing the Dimension Hole Energy recharge limit from 3 to 5 times per week. This will fasten your progress of 2nd Awakening the Monsters.
Here’s some info on the stage setup for the 2nd Awakening Dungeon, where you’ll be able to 2nd Awaken Harpu.
Now that we went over the 2A Harpu, here are some other details that will be introduced to the game with the update.
▶ v.8.5.0 Update Preview
▶ [Siege Battle] Support Monsters
The Support Monster feature, which is available in World Arena, will now be added to Siege Battle as well.
We hope this will be a great help for new Summoners and those with limited Monster pools, which will eventually lead them to be more engaged in Siege Battle and contribute more to their guild's success.
▶ What are Support Monsters?
Each season, 10 Monsters are available for use in Siege Battle, even if you don’t own them.
These Support Monsters can only be used for attacks and are not available for defense teams.
The provided Monsters come fully leveled up, equipped with Runes and Artifacts balanced for optimal performance. Please note that you cannot change or remove Runes and Artifacts equipped on them.
There will be one set of Support Monsters throughout each season. However, we will provide the same set of Support Monsters for 16th and 17th seasons.
Here is the list of Support Monsters for this season, along with their equipped Rune sets.
▶ How to Use Support Monsters
Go to [Siege Battle Battlefield > Support] to see the list of Support Monsters of the season.
You can review the 10 Support Monsters and select the ones you want to register. Keep in mind that you can utilize all 10 of them.
Once registered, you can select your Support Monsters from the battle preparation screen. Use them to form powerful strategies and try out various tactics to match the battle situation.
Here’s a summary of the Siege Battle Support Monster feature:
▶ What are Siege Battle Support Monsters?
- Each season, 10 Monsters (5★ Monster x6, 4★ monsters x 4) are provided.
- Support Monsters can only be used for attacks and are not available for defense teams.
- You can use multiple Support Monsters in a single battle.
- Each Support Monster can be used only once.
- You can also use Support Monsters in test battles.
▶ Attack Speed Display Settings
To help Summoners prepare more strategically, we’re introducing a new feature that will allow you to check the final Attack Speed of your Monsters in the battle preparation screen.
As shown in the above image, the area in the battle preparation screen that previously displayed the Monster's level will now show the Monster's Attack Speed instead.
This Attack Speed reflects the total value after factoring in equipped Runes, Artifacts, leader skills, guild skills, and Summoner skills, up to 3 digits.
All effects related to Attack Speed will be applied in real time, allowing you to see the Monster's final Attack Speed during battle preparation.
For example, if you set a Monster with a leader skill that increases ally Monsters’ Attack Speed, the final Attack Speed applied with this effect will be displayed.
This will allow you to check the Attack Speed of your Monsters in real time, helping you to prepare for battles more efficiently,
This feature will be available as an option in the Monster sorting/search menu at the bottom of the battle preparation screen. You’ll be able to enable it in the settings, alongside the Attribute Mark Mode.
If any of your Monsters don’t have Runes or Artifacts equipped, an unequipped icon will be displayed in place of the Attack Speed. This will help you quickly identify incomplete battle preparations. Monsters without Runes or Artifacts won’t have their Attack Speed displayed, so be sure to double-check before heading into battle.
▶ High Rune Crafting Improvements: Only 6★ Runes
We’ve made several improvements over time to help Summoners farm better Runes, including the Cairos Dungeon Abyssal floor update and Rune drop rate improvements.
In line with these changes, we’ve decided it’s time to improve the efficiency of Rune crafting as well. So with the v8.5.0 update, only 6★ Runes will be crafted through High Rune Crafting.
This change will be helpful for new Summoners who are still building up their Rune collection. We hope this will help many of them obtain the 6★ Runes they need.
In addition to this change, we are excited to let you know that we will be bringing a variety of improvements to both Runes and Artifacts in the upcoming v8.5.1 update at the end of October.
We’ll share more details about these improvements, so please stay tuned and look forward to the v8.5.1 update.
We also have one more piece of news about the upcoming v8.5.1 update.
▶ Battle Training Grounds Revamp
The current Battle Training Ground has a fixed set of skills and order, which forces a specific playstyle, often missing the original intent of this feature.
We’re preparing changes that will make the Battle Training Ground more engaging by allowing you to experience key battle elements such as turn coordination between Monsters, attribute relations, and buff/debuff mechanics—all while having fun strategizing.
To do this, we’ll be removing all existing stages and introducing new ones designed to enhance your experience.
Please note that the current Battle Training Ground will be removed with the v8.5.1 update at the end of October.
That's all for today's dev note. We hope you are excited to enjoy the new 2A Monster and others we are working on.
This dev note is intended to help you understand the upcoming update in advance. As development and testing are still underway, we ask you to understand that the actual update may differ from what we shared in this note.
