Hello everyone 🖤
After another busy stretch of development, the next Concubine update is ready.
This update combines several highly requested quality-of-life improvements with new customization content and ongoing work on future combat encounters. While some of the changes are immediately visible, others improve the game's foundation and prepare systems that will support future updates. One of the biggest improvements in this release is the save system rework, which greatly reduces the noticeable lag during auto-saves and level completion. What was once a frustrating interruption should now be barely noticeable during normal gameplay.
From long-awaited keybinding improvements and performance optimizations to a brand-new lingerie set, new historical-inspired tattoos, and improvements to the Zebellah boss encounter, there's plenty to cover.
Let's take a look at what's new.
Movement Keys Can Finally Be Rebound
One of the most requested accessibility and quality-of-life features is finally here.
With this update, movement keys are now fully rebindable through the controls menu. Players can customize movement controls alongside the rest of the keybinding system, providing a much more flexible setup for different keyboard layouts and personal preferences.
We know some players have been waiting for this feature for quite some time, particularly those using alternative keyboard layouts throughout Europe. We're happy to finally bring this improvement into the game and remove one of the most common control-related frustrations.
Alongside this addition, we also fixed an issue where the Reset to Default option was not properly restoring keybindings.
Sometimes the smallest features make the biggest difference, and we're glad to finally check this one off the list.
Celestial Chains Lingerie Set
Of course, no customization update would be complete without a new lingerie set.
This update introduces the Celestial Chains Lingerie Set, featuring a more exotic and ornamental aesthetic inspired by delicate chains, jewelry, and luxurious body adornments.
The design offers a very different visual style compared to previous sets and creates unique combinations when paired with tattoos, accessories, and armor pieces. Alongside the outfit itself, we've also added a complete set of dedicated inventory and equipment icons to better support the growing lingerie collection.
We've also continued improving equipment compatibility and reducing clipping issues. This update includes clipping fixes for the SteelFury, Veiled Mistress, and Nomad Temptress armor sets. Royal Silk Skirt has been restored after compatibility and clipping adjustments.
As always, expanding visual customization remains one of our core goals, and additional sets are already being discussed for future updates.
Ottoman Tattoo Collection
When we introduced tattoos in the previous update, many players requested designs that felt more closely tied to the historical and cultural inspirations behind the game's world.
To address that feedback, we've created a brand-new Ottoman-inspired tattoo collection.
The new set includes designs for multiple body regions, including arms, legs, waist, back, and torso areas. Compared to some of the earlier decorative tattoos, these patterns lean more heavily into motifs, ornaments, and artistic influences that better reflect the era and atmosphere that inspired many of Concubine's locations and characters.
This is only the first expansion of the tattoo system, and we intend to continue growing the collection with additional themes and artistic styles over time.
Boss Polish: Zebellah
Combat development has continued steadily behind the scenes.
With this update, Zebellah Combat has reached a fully playable state. The encounter now includes its core mechanics, combat flow, visual effects, and overall structure, bringing one of our planned boss battles significantly closer to its final form.
While there's still room for polish and balancing, we're excited to finally see Zebellah evolve from a placeholder encounter into a proper boss fight.
Looking Ahead
Our next update is still taking shape, but a few goals are already becoming clear.
Another lingerie set is very likely to arrive in the near future, and there's a good chance we'll continue expanding our boss encounter lineup as development progresses.
We're also actively evaluating several larger features, including:
Controller Support
Free Pose Mode
A New Level
Additional Combat Content
The priority order for these features is still being discussed internally, and Patreon supporter feedback will be part of that discussion as we determine what should come next.
As always, we'll share more details once we're confident about the direction of the next major update.
Thank you for your continued support, feedback, screenshots, bug reports, and suggestions. Every update helps shape the future of Concubine, and we're excited to continue building the game together.
