DEVLOG #005 - New Warehouse Feature Showcase 🏭
Hey Parcel Inspectors! It's been a little while since my last post as I've been working away behind the scenes to bring the new warehouse update to life. I'll have this out in the coming weeks, but I appreciate that's already a little later than planned! Thank you all for bearing with me while I work on getting this update up to scratch. Here are some of the things I've been working on:
🏗️ Pallet Build Mode
One of the more heavily requested features I've seen in Parcel Sim is for a better build system, and with the new warehouse being larger this felt more important than ever. A new Pallet Build Mode upgrade will be available as part of the new warehouse update which will allow you to unpack and place conveyors directly without having to open each delivery box individually.
➡️ New Conveyors
As part of the country sorting requirement for the new warehouse, a new Country Diverter Conveyor will be available which will allow for all 12 countries to be independently sorted into their respective racks/chutes.
Additionally, as the new warehouse is so large, I've added a Speedway Conveyor, a much faster 1x3 length conveyor, which can move parcels quickly across the length of the new warehouse.
With the multi-level nature of the new warehouse, getting parcels up/down is important, and so this is where the Elevator Conveyor comes in. With upgradable speed, and adjustable direction, this conveyor will allow you to move parcels up and down levels (if you don't choose to use launchers instead!)
🎮 Controller Support
For those of you who prefer to play with a controller or on Steam Deck, full controller support will be introduced with Parcel Sim which will allow you to play the full game without touching a mouse or keyboard.
🏭 Multi-Level Warehouse
To make better use of the vertical space in the new warehouse, there will be doors both upstairs and downstairs, adding a new layer to the automation and sorting experience, and giving some more purpose to the new Elevator Conveyors! Each door will be fully configurable, so you'll be able to pick and choose which country goes where!
📊 Optimisation & Performance
With a much larger warehouse comes a lot more conveyors and parcels. As such, lots of work has been needed to optimise the game to ensure it still runs smoothly. This is not an easy task and one that has taken a lot longer than anticipated, but hopefully the results speak for themselves on launch!
❤️ Thank you for 2000+ Steam Reviews!
As always, reviews are super appreciated and really help with understanding the pain-points in Parcel Simulator as well as showing the game to more players on Steam! Please do consider leaving one if you haven't already, thanks!
