HAPPY FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Happy birthday Asteroids ++ ! The game was released on 20th June of 2024, how time flies doesn't it? Well it's time to reveal some next changes for the game.
Breakdown
I am still seeing the player base enjoying and playing the game. I've been pushing the game to other platforms like gx.games where the game got jawdropping 70000 players playing it! And 10000 steam players have launched the game!
4th Drop
I will start doing Planet Drops again, I want to make the planet drops to be a bit more consistent, because the first drop lasted maybe 2 weeks, the second around a month or two, and this one? 9 MONTHS!
Yeah, that's right, the third drop lasted since 22nd September! I think it is finally time to do something about that, so I will try to be consistent and release **every planet drop for every 4 months.** This way the players can know when to expect new campaigns, weapons, asteroids and big updates, while in between
1.3.0
I have been working here and there on the game, to be honest, I've been mostly on other projects, so I think I will shift some focus on the game again, here is what is coming up:
Teegarden Campaign
A campaign featuring 4 planets, with a new gimmick of 'disproportionate' planets, where you will face 3x4 planets, or 4x3. The campaign will feature Teegarden B, C and D, and the Teegarden Star, which is 5x5! It will cost 3.99€ as a DLC, but like always, you can buy planets or get planet drops to play the campaign for completely free!
The Jovian Moons
A campaign featuring 6 planets, featuring Ganymede, Callisto, Io, Europa, Amalthea, Himalia. The campaign will cost 5.99€, but you can buy planets or gather planet drops for free.
New Weapon - Fireworks
Thought it would be fitting. Basically imagine a rocket except it explodes into a bigger explosion of smaller rockets! It will deal HUGE damage, but no homing capability, and it has limited range.
New Ability - Power Star
For a temporary time, turn all of your weapons and utilities to level 12, and hear epic music while at it!
The 1.3.0 update will come out when the 4th drop gets out.
1.3.1 and beyond:
Game-based campaigns/music kits
I was thinking to do this for a while, where if you owned something on the steam library, you would get a campaign or a **music kit for free.** I'm going to look into it more and this will be a cross-game event.
Changeable music
Music during gameplay are based on what asteroids you face, but I will be looking to have players customize this feature.
Difficulty Change
I will be making a drastic change for difficulty. When going from planet to planet, you lose weapons and their levels based on difficulty, but I am thinking to change it up so that instead of losing weapons, the shop items get banned per planet based on seed. I think this is a more interesting approach rather than removing something from the player that they already bought.
Weekly planet difficulty
There are players playing and competing for a new record times in weekly planet, so I will do a small update for it. You will be able to change difficulties in weekly planet and you will get bonuses.
Common Drops
Music kits, asteroid drops, weapon drops! You name it! They are all coming
Ability/Utility Crafting
I plan to add abilities and utility items for drops, which can be used as discounts for the skill tree (1% per level), just like how weapons work at the moment.
Anyways, I will be hard working to get this out as fast as possible! Tomorrow is going to be a sale on the Asteroids ++ Soundtrack, Proxima Centauri and Kepler-90 campaigns. Have fun!
