Closed Alpha available on Epic Games Store
We are now enabling the ability for the closed alpha to run on the Epic Games Store for those who would prefer to use the Epic Games Store launcher. Those who would prefer to use Steam can of course still use Steam.
However!
Closed Alpha key recipients may only receive 1 key: Steam or Epic Games Store. So what we have done is given you the ability to choose which key you would prefer by updating our sign-up form with the option to choose Steam or Epic Games Store.
Up until this point, Steam was the only platform we offered. So we have defaulted everyone's preferences to Steam. This means if you have signed up for the closed alpha and if you wish to receive a Steam key then you do not need to do anything else.
If you wish to receive an Epic Games Store key however, you will need to re-register using the same form at https://amongthewildgame.com. Simply:
1) Enter the same email address you signed up with
2) Select that you want to be part of the Alpha Key giveaway, then
3) Choose Epic Games Store as your preferred platform
4) Submit and verify your email again, and you're done!
Feedback from the Closed Alpha and New Features
We've gotten a ton of feedback from the closed alpha and we've been using that to inform the next steps for Among The Wild. We've devised some new plans and have been hard at work all year to make those changes that we feel will address the issues some of the Closed Alpha testers have been running into.
It's been a while since we've sent out alpha keys...
Super sorry for this. We would've loved to give more concrete updates and more frequent key drops if possible, but since so much has been in flux in the game it's been hard to commit to any information regarding the state of the game or when we can expect alpha keys.
Right now we are working to finish up the changes we're implementing and stabilising the build. Once that's done, we'll look to invite more people into the Closed Alpha so that their first impressions can be based on the new version of the game, rather than the old version.
