Greetings!
After months of polishing throughout July and August, Huaxia WarringStates has received a major update.
We are fully aware that previous versions had several shortcomings, particularly regarding combat feel and progression systems. We’ve taken all your feedback to heart. In this update, we’ve made systematic adjustments to address the most common concerns and introduced a batch of new content, all in an effort to bring Huaxia WarringStates closer to the game you’ve been hoping for.
Thank you to every Scholar for your continued companionship and patience. It is your feedback and support that allow us to refine this game step by step. This update is by no means the end of our journey; our next development diary is already in the works and will be shared with you soon.
Below is a summary of this update:
I. Content Updates
1. Legendary Generals System
Each Legendary General now possesses unique ambitions and exclusive traits, offering distinct mechanical roles and combat characteristics. We’ve also fixed missing entries and content in certain Generals' ambition lists. Hints for collection-type ambitions will now clearly specify the required items.
2. Legacy & Progression
Added the "Teach Philosophy" and "Teach Skills" features for Clansmen and Retainers. Scholars can now pass down mastered skills and philosophies to their subordinates, making progression much more flexible.
3. Party Inventory
The tedious era of "one bag per character and constant item juggling" is officially over. We’ve overhauled the underlying inventory rules: individual hero inventories are now unified into a shared Party Inventory. Item categorization has also been optimized, making looting, storing, and organizing a breeze.
4. Equipment Comparison
Added an equipment attribute comparison panel. You can now intuitively compare the numerical differences and special effect changes between a target item and your currently equipped gear, making gear-switching decisions much clearer.
5. Clan Collection
Once the protagonist collects a blueprint, recipe, book, or other collectible, it is instantly shared with all Clan members. The acquisition and organization of these vast collections have also been streamlined.
6. Mounted Combat
Added melee weapon attacks while mounted: Left-click for 1/2/3 combo attacks + Right-click for heavy attacks (currently implemented for one-handed and two-handed short-handled weapons; other weapons are in development).
Mounted archery now supports 360° shooting, with arrows firing precisely toward the mouse cursor.
The attack feel and movement transitions while mounted have been optimized, along with improved afterimage effects during skill interrupts.
7. Character Creator
The character creator now features more components and a fully upgraded calculation system, allowing you to craft more distinctive character models and laying the groundwork for future model expansions.
The appearances of several historical figures have also been updated to truly capture the essence of these legendary scholars.
The UI and interactions on the character creation screen have been optimized for a smoother experience, and head model vertex colors have been removed for more natural facial lighting.
8. Controls & Feel
Inertia-based acceleration and deceleration in open-world movement has been removed for instant character response.
Camera follow freedom and boundary tolerance have been improved.
Keyboard and mouse mapping and feedback have been comprehensively optimized, ensuring consistent, fluid, and responsive movement across all scenarios.
II. Quality of Life Improvements
1. Interactions & Efficiency
Optimized interactions such as Sparring, Seeking Guidance, and Debating; single-interaction rewards have been increased. The data reconstruction process for older save files has been optimized, significantly improving load times.
2. UI & Notifications
Fixed text overflow issues across all language versions for a cleaner UI. Updated the notification system: added missing alerts, streamlined Chinese text, and merged duplicate trigger messages. Fixed a bug where the left option panel and top character options failed to hide correctly when teaching philosophies.
III. Bug Fixes
This update also集中 (concentrates on) fixing a batch of legacy bugs. While many of these only triggered in specific scenarios, they genuinely impacted your gameplay experience. We’ve investigated and resolved them one by one. Here’s the breakdown:
Stability:
Fixed DX12 Crashes: Some Scholars experienced occasional crashes or freezes in DX12 mode, especially during intense combat or long play sessions. We’ve located and fixed the root cause; DX12 stability is now significantly improved.
Fixed Save Load Errors: Previously, some save files would throw errors and prevent entry, risking lost progress. This issue is now fixed, and the save loading process has been fortified to prevent data loss. Your hard work is safe.
Refactored Equipment & Trait Load Logic: Previously, attribute bonuses from certain equipment and traits failed to apply correctly after loading a save, causing discrepancies between panel stats and actual combat power. We’ve refactored this logic to recalculate affected attributes upon loading, ensuring accurate stats.
Expanded Projectile Logic & Configuration: We’ve expanded the underlying logic and configuration capabilities for projectiles, paving the way for richer combat mechanics like arrow volleys and catapults in future updates.
Combat:
5. Fixed Mounted Shooting Spawn Point: Arrows previously fired from abnormal positions or with offset trajectories while mounted, causing misses even when aimed correctly. This is now fixed; arrows fly along the correct path, restoring normal mounted accuracy.
6. Fixed "Defeat Captain but Lose Battle" Bug: Previously, defeating an enemy captain could still result in a battle loss, causing squads to disappear and quests to stall. This恶性 (vicious) chain bug has been completely resolved. Defeating a captain now correctly settles the battle, restoring squad stability and quest progression.
IV. Future Development Roadmap
Work has already begun on several major milestones for future versions. Here’s a quick progress report for our Scholars:
1. The Map of Jiuzhou (Nine Provinces)
The complete map of Jiuzhou is gradually taking shape. Art asset production for Tier-1 zones is now in full swing: terrain sculpting, texture painting, scene chunking, and overworld modeling are all progressing simultaneously. A vast, seamless Jiuzhou is coming to life.
2. Seven Kingdoms Troop System
The troop framework is undergoing continuous optimization. We are digging deep into the cultural core of the Seven Kingdoms to create unique troop characteristics for each nation. We are also clarifying the roles and deep progression paths for each troop type, while strengthening counter-mechanics. Troop deployment strategies and progression will be fully upgraded, making battlefield tactics and army composition more meaningful than ever.
Additionally, battle command, territory enfeoffment, garrison command balance, free camera angles, and historical events are all in active development.
We will meticulously polish every single feature, aiming to release them only when they are mature and complete. We kindly ask for a little more of your patience. We will stay true to our original vision and continue refining this game until it meets your expectations.
Warm regards,
Qinchuan Hanzhu Studio
