Hello from the Soulers Development Team
The demo has been updated with the crew system overhaul announced in our Q3 roadmap, along with new content including our newest crew member, Daram.
This update adds perk trees that offer more ways to develop your crew, introduces a new crew member and weapon, and improves the existing combat experience and character illustrations.
Read on for the full update details.
Improved Bullet Patterns & Bullet Removal on Stagger
We have revised the bullet patterns of bosses and certain monsters.
We have refined the shapes and movement of these patterns to make them more visually appealing and more fun to dodge. We have also made a change to the Stagger system.
Now, when a monster—including a boss—is Staggered, all bullets it has created will be removed. This makes Stagger a way to clear dangerous bullet patterns and create an opening to strike back, in addition to briefly stopping an enemy's actions.
Crew Perk Trees Now Available
The crew perk trees introduced in our previous roadmap are now available in the demo.
Spend currency to level up your crew members and unlock new perk tiers one by one. At each tier, you can choose and equip one of two available perks.
Your choice of perks lets you develop the same crew member in different directions.
Choose perks that suit your playstyle and loadout to develop your crew. You can level up crew members at the bar aboard the Vessel. Weapon upgrades are also available at the bar, so get your crew and equipment ready before heading out on a mission :happy\_seagull:
New Crew Member: Daram
Daram joins the crew.
Daram uses holographic clones in combat. Activating the skill deploys 8 clones to fight alongside Lethe. One clone may be weak, but there are plenty of them!
Try out a different approach to combat from that of the existing crew members.
New Weapon: SR-B1 'Slayer'
The new SR\_B1 'Slayer' sniper rifle has been added.
Slayer is a high-damage sniper rifle with low Stagger Force. Its bullets pierce every enemy in their path. Positioning and firing angles are key to lining up multiple enemies in a single shot, giving you a new way to approach the battlefield.
Improved Character Portraits
We have updated the standing portraits for all characters.
We have refined the illustrations to better bring out each character's personality and charm. Their ears now also change with certain expressions.
Meet the Soulers crew in-game and see their even cuter new looks!
