Two years!
It's been a long time! In fact, it's been just over two years since the initial release of NeverHome - Hall of Apathy.
With NeverHome's second chapter being close to completion, I felt it was a good idea to add some updates to the first one. Things have mostly been left the same, and the changes are minor, but I think they're important.
Achievements
The most noticeable thing with this new build is that you can now unlock Steam achievements! There are ten achievements you can unlock, with two of them hidden. I hope players have fun trying to get them all! It was a very rewarding addition to add.
Controller stuff!
Next up, native controller support is now available in the game! While there's no button mapping, I think the game feels very comfortable to play on a controller. Of course, this feature is new, and I'm very open to suggestions on how to improve this feature. I also don't have all the different kinds of controllers to test this with, so I'd be interested in hearing feedback regarding those besides the DualShock 4.
Minor fixes
There have also been some small adjustments to how save data is handled, which should hopefully remedy some of the issues that players have had in the past regarding losing data for memory fragments. This was a big one that I wanted to fix, so I'd love to hear feedback on this one as well.
I also edited some of the text throughout the game. These changes were very small though, so I doubt many people will notice.
Give me feedback!
I'm really hoping that these improvements allow people to enjoy Hall of Apathy more than ever. I'm always interested in hearing what players have to say, so if there's anything at all you'd like to share with me, please don't hesitate to do so- whether it be on Twitter, Bluesky, Tumblr, email, or just right here on Steam.
Thank you so much for your interest in the development of NeverHome!
