Hey folks,
Thanks as ever for your patience. This update is a little strange.
Not many people know the difficulty of maintaining the validity of save games over a long period.
Moonring has been in development for a long time, and - as a result - the save formats, and the various underlying pieces of code to ensure compatibility between versions has grown longer and more complicated. This fix marks my removing a section of code that was nuking dungeon data between saves. This was, at one point, necessary. It hasn't been for a long time and I thought I'd cleaned it up.
Well, I sort of cleaned it up. It was more like cleaning a bullet wound and leaving the bullet in there. To become infected. And icky. As a result, each new build has been 'Working Fine on My Machine (TM)', but various reports have described ghostly stairwells that don't actually go up and other creepy occurrences.
This is now gone, and I think the saves should be more robust without that old code festering in there.
Also, Stunning Roar now hits players a lot harder thanks-k-bye!
