Hi there!
First, thank you so much for trying and buying our game. Virballs is a passion project for our studio, and we hope that you're having as much fun playing it as we have in making it.
You might have already played through the first planet, Jambito, by now and are wondering, "What now?"
Good news! I'm here to tell you what comes next.
The 2024 Roadmap
October 29, 2024 - 1st Patch. We're giving everyone an Orb Pumpkin skin to celebrate Halloween. If you end up using it, send us a screenshot! We love seeing Orb out in the wild. (As a reminder, if you haven't downloaded your Early Access skin, that's free to all Early Access players and will disappear when we launch next year. Also, if you stream or make gameplay videos, let us know! We'll send you the exclusive Streamer skin.)
November 4, 2024—Our first content update patch. This patch will include a new surprise feature. (We're keeping it secret for now, but we can't wait for you to play the mode!) This patch will also include any fixes for bugs that you've found.
November 12, 2024 - Our first narrative update patch. Rita is getting a new voice. We'll also include any narrative changes we've made to the early levels and some new environment changes.
November 19, 2024 - Everfin World Release - You'll get all new levels to play on the Everfin planet. Think deep blue waters, sandy beaches, and killer waiterbots…. Orb really has his work cut out for him cleaning this planet up. Enjoy five new levels filled with new platform challenges and new bosses!
December 3, 2024 - The Great Bug Roundup - We'll implement fixes for any bugs we find this week.
December 10, 2024 - Our second narrative update patch. - We'll implement new story changes and any environment changes to match. (More details on this as we get closer)
December 17, 2024 - Dr. Corvid's Lab! A new icon will appear on your world map, and Dr. Corvid's Lab will appear. The Lab is both a sandbox where you can practice your skills against any combo of virballs you can think of and an arena where we can drop survival challenges on you! Are you ready to win some new skins? Because we're ready to throw down some fun new challenges!
Starting next year, we'll ramp up for our full release, which will be sooner than you think! We'll keep you updated as we get closer.
In the meantime, join us on our Discord for up-to-date news, community challenges, and fun. You never know when we'll pop up with contests to win cool prizes.
Have fun, and beware the bees!
