Hey friends. This month, we've been focusing on the start of the game, specifically the first 60-90 minutes. The goal is to use this part of gameplay for early testing or a demo. This version will be sent to a few people, and based on their feedback, we'll get closer to our first closed mini-alpha. In the next update, I plan to give more details about the opportunities to try the game. Don’t get too excited! We’re very thorough (or slow?) so, take baby steps.
Now, for this update, it is going to be a little abstract.

Railborn vibes
Trestles 🌉
Railborn is a world tangled in tracks, weaving this way and that, cutting through mountains and diving into valleys. One of the inspirations for this is the really cool mountain railways we’ve experienced in Western Canada, Europe, and Southeast Asia. This summer, the Washbear team visited an old rail line in Myra-Bellevue Park (British Columbia) that has been turned into a bike path crossing over huge trestles in the mountains. It was very cool!

We took a boat load of notes from the experience. Hopefully, you can see how we turn the real world into the fantastic for Railborn.
Why have endless tracks consumed the Railborn planet? You’ll find out!
Railborn vibes ✨
An important vibe that has guided the two of us at Washbear is our love of starting with a tiny set of wheels and creatively constructing a massive, awesome train. How does the experience translate? Well – you literally are starting with just a set of wheels and a rickety old wooden platform.
And before you even think about your massive fuel guzzling mega-train, you’re going to learn to love the handpump. Starting with nothing you’ll need work your way up. You too will learn the agony of the pump! 😊
Don’t worry, we have faith you’ll be upgrading out of the 19th century to the future very quickly.
We'd love to hear what vibes you'd love to see in the game! Let us know in the comments. :)
And as a reminder, please shoot out our game link to some friends for a Wishlist or two 😊 Or even better, chat about us.
