It is already obvious to us that we have developed the basic gaming environment, but did not have time to fill it with content. At the moment, we are adding various missions and challenges so that, even in early access, the game differs from the first CCD. And so that, due to changes in the game formula, it does not feel like a “step back.” Also, mechanics related to the transport ecosystem require polishing. They are all connected with the economy, and we want to make them simple but good. They are fully functional, however, the economic factor in the game requires tying everything into a single fabric.
Based on the testing results, it turned out that the game optimization leaves much to be desired, and this does not meet our City Car Driving development standards. In addition, the game has bugs that should not be allowed in the game, even in the first early access version.
Additionally, there is a separate issue of setting up the compatibility of steering wheels, gamepads, keyboards and the mouse as the main input devices. Not only from the point of view that “they work” but also the ease of device use when playing.
Here is the main news:
- We will continue to publish developer logs in text format, but will soon add video format. In our first video, we want to show part of the prepared gameplay. The video version will be called «DevMP4», and will also be issued regularly – once every two weeks, from the day the first video is released. Fundamentally, the video version is not an advertisement. We want to show full gameplay so that a few months before the release of the game there is an understanding of what we created.
- Game price and system requirements will be announced with the first game trailer. We will announce the trailer date in advance.
We note in advance in order to prevent speculation: we have no crunches (overtime work), problems with the lack of resources or qualified specialists in the team, and anything else that can be described as “production hell.” We are well aware of our strengths and capabilities and are still focused on creating the best car simulator in existence.
Thus, the main reason for the postponement is to polish the game before its early access release so that you can fully enjoy our vision of the game.
Also, if you have ideas about what missions there might be in CCD 2.0, tell us. The best ones will be implemented in subsequent early access updates. Let’s build the game together.
Thank you for your understanding and support, good luck to everyone on real and virtual roads!
