I'm just gonna throw it right out to you: I didn't do jack in May. This sounds awful, I know. But I have a reason. It might even count as an excuse!
My day job ended up leeching all of my free time and energy. And I do mean all of it. I ended up cutting almost all the extra stuff in my life out just to focus on wrapping it up for the summer break. But considering how much I like my day job, this is not a bad problem to have. Unless all you know me for is my devwork. In which case, it makes me look lazy. But I promise, the devwork got temporarily cut for the exact opposite of laziness!
But its the summer now, my day job doesn't start back up until August, and I have no summer job lined up. Which means writing IS going to be my summer job! I'm doing as much as I can now because I don't know if I'll run into this 'no free time' problem with my day job again in the fall (but I am planning for this). Plus, I just need something to keep me busy. I am off to a good start: Chapter 2 is completely finished, and Chapter 3 has begun!
I'm also working on a couple of other projects. Springtime at Shoreline is a visual novel about humanoid bettas (that might come to Steam, I'm still debating but so far assuming 'yes'), and Jetti Moray is a fantasy novel about a moray eel saving the world. As much as I like robots, I like aquatic science even more - so these are fun little projects that tie into my real passion. I went from no devwork at all to juggling three projects. Just like the old days. But if you want to follow those projects, you gotta go to itch.io. :-(
The July and August updates will hopefully be much more packed than the last couple of monthly hype updates were. After that, we will see what happens. Just bear with me pl0x
And unless things change, the Blue Mirage demo may or may not be taking part in the certain festival that occurs in June??? Stay tuned??? Trying to stay subtle about it because, even though I saw other devs making their announcement, I don't actually know if I'm allowed to yet???
