Hello everyone!
This is the FromDawn Games team coming at you with Volume 8 of the Aeruta developer’s log!
At long last May has arrived.
The sun is shining brightly, but we are taking shelter in our nicely air-conditioned studio as we progress development and enjoy some virtual shaved ice at the Watersong Festival 🍧
This month's developer’s log may be a little late, but we’re coming back with a bang!
This time, in addition to the recent development progress, we’ll also be announcing future plans and new goals for the official release! 🍞📅
Without further ado, let’s dive in!
A storm of fists is coming! Take on the forces lurking in the ruins! 🥊
Abandoned long ago and forgotten, the ancient ruins have been secretly nurturing an underground society- where your passport to entry are your bare fists. And if you can’t pack a punch, you’d best see yourself out! 🥇 In this land wrought with injustice, Chaya challenges the current reign to the throne to a duel. No words are necessary for the truly powerful! The battle of a lifetime begins now!
An invitation to trials awaits deep in the forest🌿
Deep in Merca Forest, tucked secretly away behind overgrown vines, Chaya discovers… a hidden passage 😨⁉️ The moment she steps inside, the once silent forest is suddenly transformed into a battleground! There’ll be no time to rest with all the battles that await. After overcoming the barrage of foes, you may have a glimpse of some precious ingredients… Dare to delve deeper, but prepare for the strong enemies ahead with careful preparation!
Tourism is booming! Bakersfield is the place to be!✨
As word of the bakery's reputation spreads, the Bakersfield Plaza has become even more lively! Bollio's architectural prowess is getting the tourists’ attention, an outpour of praise that even Bollio didn’t expect... Our little sheep was so happy inside that she spent the night busily drafting up all new designs! 📐 🐏 Even more unique buildings, shiny tiles, and a townscape that incorporates the abundance of nature and-... what’s that-…? A new area behind the bakery!? Effie never told us about that!😱
Experience the precise, elegant slashes of the rapier! ⚔️
Remember that blue weapon you saw at the very beginning of the game? Well, the time has finally come to wield it! The third weapon has arrived: the rapier! Thrust like the wind, and withdraw like a dance -- The rapier has been fine-tuned for advanced players, requiring you to be aware of your enemy’s distance and make split-second decisions! Fill up your gauge, calculate your timing, and turn the tide of battle with a single blow! Apply pressure head-on and switch from defense to offense! It’s up to you to master its elegant swing… We’re currently preparing to make it available to play for a limited time this summer! Please look forward to it!💪🦊
In other news…
May 16th of this month marked exactly one year since the launch of Aeruta in Early Access!🎉Happy Anniversary to us!
Over the past year, Aeruta has undergone several updates, including a completely new area introduced this fall, and this spring we got to get close and personal with the goddesses.
Now, exactly six months have passed since the last major update.
Although our original plan was to deliver the official version within a year after the early access version, as we developed we realized that the content we had originally envisioned was not enough to make things as enjoyable, intense, or complete as we originally thought.
Currently, a third weapon isn’t the only thing we’re adding. Besides this, we’re adding to the main quest, new areas, implementing new systems, adjusting the UI and balance, optimizing the difficulty curve, and making improvements in many other areas.
Although game development is progressing smoothly, we still don’t want to compromise on quality. Therefore, we would like to make an important announcement.
Aeruta’s official release will take a little more time so we can take time for further refinement.
The official version is still on the way, and we promise to deliver it by the end of 2025.
We are carefully considering our plans for updates after the official release, as well as ports to other platforms, something a lot of you have been requesting.
Please wait just a little longer, we’ve got a whole lot more fun and exciting content coming!
And finally, a little heads up:
we are planning a more extensive test play before the official version is released!
We’ll be holding two rounds of tests, and we’ll be adjusting it this time around so you have even more playtime!✨
Thank you so much for all your continued support🍞🧡
As we get closer to official release, we will be focusing even more on promotions and events, so please keep an eye out for future developments! 👀
That's all for now.
See you in the next dev log!
