Heyo Everyone!
Today's update might seem small in quantity, but it's huge in terms of impact, focusing on two major features that have been in the works.
Introducing "Automatic Assignment" for Amenities
The new "Automatic Assignment" feature for amenity rooms is finally here, a change inspired by your feedback, and specifically a suggestion from A790 on Discord. The term "toggle" was the key to unlocking this feature. My challenge was to differentiate this from the temporary assignment system used in workrooms, as amenities like beds shouldn't be shared - it's both a practical and a balance issue. Now, with a simple toggle, you have control over the rooms you're focused on and leave the rest to auto-assign. The feature is feeling right, but I'm looking forward to more late-game testing to refine it further.
Custom Mode: Tailor Your Experience
After fine-tuning Survival Mode, it was time to tackle the last mode for release: Custom Mode. The design of the game allows scenarios to be managed as ScriptableObjects, offering flexibility and ease of editing. The result is this comprehensive UI packed with options I've developed over the years. It's intuitive to me, but then again, I've been living and breathing this game for five years! I would love your input on making the options and tooltips clearer for everyone.
What's Next?
Looking ahead, I'm focusing on enhancing the UI for managing large numbers of Mages and diving into the much-anticipated Twitch integrations. As always, your feedback is invaluable in this journey.
Thanks for your ongoing support,
Jason
