As I mentioned in the first DevLog, the updated demo includes a ton of quality of life changes, plus some new content in the form of new social events, areas and Eidolons. I've also implemented proper gamepad support.
Quality of Life:
- Gamepad is now properly supported, however there will be more improvements for Gamepad controls in the near future.
- Added a virtual keyboard for name inputs.
- Added a new auto-save feature that can be configured from the settings menu.
- Added a new notification for saving the game.
- You can now purchase multiple items at once from shops.
- Added a new notification that lists people of interest as you approach an area in the overworld.
- Added skip dialogue functionality, pressing the Confirm button will instantly complete the message being written in the dialogue box.
General:
- Added two new areas to the overworld: Lower Arcadia City and Wasteland Sanctuary.
- Added the Fortune Teller which allows you to change your name and nickname your Eidolons.
- Added four new Social events.
Battle System:
- Negative Status Effects now interact with the target's Affliction affinity resistance. Weakness to Affliction will increase the chance for the status effect to be applied, while Resist, Null or Drain to Affliction will reduce it.
- The Daze status effect was changed to a 25% accuracy penalty to all Physical abilities.
- The Languid status effect was changed to only raise the MP cost of Special abilities. (Energize and Free Action still affect all ability types.)
- Added a visual indicator for the duration of a timed status effect.
- When applying a timed status effect that already exists on the target, the duration of the status effect will instead be refreshed when possible.
- The damage calculation formula has been adjusted to make Endurance and Resistance more effective.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an inconsistency with Fortify, Power, Frail and Weaken and damage calculation.
- Fixed some collision errors on the Overworld.
- Fixed a bunch of audio related issues.
- Fixed an issue with item drop tables not being calculated correctly.
