Every year Outcasts of the Rift appears at several live events, and even some virtual ones! During this time, attendees can view a portfolio full of concept art and illustrations, talk with the developer about Outcasts of the Rift, and play the latest version of the demo live!
Why wouldn’t you just play the demo on Steam, you ask? You’re more than welcome to do that, and I encourage it! The Steam demo is longer, containing six chapters and about 1.5 to 2 hours of gameplay. The live demo is shorter, so that as many people as possible can play it, and contains two chapters and about 20-30 minutes of gameplay. While the Steam version runs better, since Outcasts of the Rift runs better on desktop computers than laptops, the live demo is always the most recent version of Outcasts of the Rift, since the Steam version takes longer to update. There are advantages and disadvantages to both demos, and I recommend trying both!
Are you going to attend any of these events? Did you discover Outcasts of the Rift through a live event? Let me know in the comments!
