A new update is coming to Just Chess! We're adding support for traditional time controls: bullet, blitz, rapid, and classic. Whether you enjoy fast-paced reflex battles or deep strategic games, you'll be able to choose the format that suits your style.
We're also planning to include a 3D chess clock for a more immersive and visual way to track time.
While we can’t give an exact release date yet, development is already very close to complete, and we’ll be starting playtesting soon to fine-tune everything. Please note that the release timing may shift if unexpected bugs arise.
And don’t worry — the current no time limit mode will remain available for those who prefer to take their time and play without pressure. In this mode, players will also be able to adjust the engine’s move delay, creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere for those who like to carefully examine the board after each move.
Letting the chess engine manage its play under time constraints may slightly increase its effective strength, but the goal is to provide a balanced experience — especially for newer players who still want a fair chance at victory.
