Hey Demiurgos,
First off: huge thank you to everyone who reported the recent issues. Your detailed bug reports helped us identify some serious critical bugs that could cause crashes, progression blocks, and other nasty problems down the line.
We’ve prepared a patch that fixes these issues properly… but unfortunately the fixes require changes that break compatibility with existing save files. That means saves from the current version won't load after the update.
We really hate having to do this, and we know how frustrating it is when progress gets interrupted.
To make sure nobody is forced to lose their current playthrough, we’re doing the following: the current (pre-patch) version will remain available for some time in a special Steam branch called "previous", so you can opt into the old version to keep playing your existing saves normally.
How to stay on the old version (after the patch releases):
Right-click the game in your Steam library
Go to Properties → Betas tab
In the beta participation dropdown, select previous
Steam will download/switch to that version automatically
We’ll keep the previous branch available for some time. The new patched version (with the fixes) has already gone live. Thank you again for your patience and amazing support, it genuinely helps us make the game better. We’ll do our best to avoid save-breaking changes in the future.
Let us know if you have any questions or run into issues switching branches.
See you in-game,
The Demiurgos Team
