Weather conditions play a critical role in race strategy, especially in Endurance Motorsport Series, where you can run several cars from different classes in a single race. Porsche joins the lineup with the Porsche 963 in the Hypercar class and the Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GT3 category. And that's not all: the legendary Spa-Francorchamps with its unpredictable weather and its mythic layout is part of the Endurance Motorsport Series game!
Weather Radar: Anticipation Is Everything
As a race engineer, your job is to develop the smartest possible strategy to outpace the competition. In addition to tools like Driving Style Management, monitoring the weather radar is absolutely essential for success.

Reading the weather correctly could make or break your race. A dedicated weather radar is available from the pit wall, offering crucial data such as nearby cloud formations (color-coded by rain intensity), wind speed, and wind direction. With this information in hand, you can decide exactly when to call your drivers in the pits for tire changes.
Beyond slicks, which are only effective on a dry track, the game includes Intermediate and Wet tires, designed for rainy conditions. Intermediate tires are ideal for light rain, while Wet tires shine in heavy rain and more treacherous conditions. Track humidity constantly shifts with the weather and it can vary from corner to corner, especially on long circuits like Spa-Francorchamps.

From the driver’s perspective, the radar isn't visible. That information is exclusive to the race engineer from the pit wall. Making the right tire calls at just the right moment is essential to climbing the leaderboard.
Porsche Reveal: Hypercar & GT3 Categories
Porsche’s history is deeply tied to endurance racing. With 19 wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, 12 at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and 20 at the Daytona 24 Hours, Porsche stands as the most successful manufacturer in endurance racing history. Both the Porsche 963 and Porsche 911 GT3 R are part of the Endurance Motorsport Series.

The Porsche 963 debuted in 2023 under the new Hypercar regulations. Its name is a nod to the legendary Porsche 956 and 962 models that dominated sports car racing in the 1980s. It succeeds the Porsche 919 Hybrid, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
In 2024, the Porsche 963 cars secured both the Hypercar World Endurance Drivers’ Championship and the IMSA GTP Drivers’ Championship, including a major win at the 24 Hours of Daytona.
GT racing is also part of the Porsche’s DNA. The Porsche 911 GT3 R (992), also introduced in 2023, is the brand's latest evolution in the GT3 class. It proved its strength with a 1-2 finish in the LMGT3 category of the 2024 World Endurance Championship, and an impressive victory at the Bathurst 12 Hour the same year.

Spa-Francorchamps: A Legendary Racetrack
Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most iconic racetracks in the world. Located in the Ardennes Forest, in eastern Belgium, it’s a favorite among drivers thanks to its 7.004 km layout and legendary corners like Eau Rouge, Raidillon, and Pouhon.
With over 100 years of history, Spa’s legacy is tightly woven into the fabric of endurance racing. The first Spa 24 Hours was held in 1924 on a massive 15-kilometer layout. In 1953, Spa was part of the inaugural World Sportscar Championship.

Starting in 1966, two major endurance races were held at Spa: the Spa 24 Hours for touring cars, and the Spa 1000 km for sports prototypes. The circuit was shortened from 14 to 7 km in 1979 and has since been modernized several times. Today, it still hosts two premier endurance events:
The Spa 24 Hours (with 8 Porsche wins) is known as the hardest GT3 race in the world.
The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (with 10 Porsche wins) is a regular venue of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Spa is also famous for its unpredictable weather. Many races have seen everything from sun and light showers to heavy rain, fog, and even snow, like during the 2019 edition of the 6 Hours of Spa. If you want to succeed in your Endurance Motorsport Series races at Spa, mastering the weather will be absolutely crucial.
🏆 Race as a driver, win as a team.
