Dev Blog – February 2025
Wastelanders,
It’s time for another development update! We know you’ve been eagerly waiting for news, and we want to share what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. Our team has been pushing forward, refining systems, adding new features, and preparing for the upcoming v0.6 patch, which we plan to release in April 2025. As always, your feedback and passion inspire us to keep improving, and we can’t wait to bring these changes to the game.

Major Gameplay & UI Improvements
- Persistent Slot Simplification – We are merging pants and jacket pockets into a single protected persistent slot, making inventory management more efficient.
- Overweight Inventory System – Players will be able to exceed the weight limit, but with movement handicaps as a tradeoff.
- New Attachment Slots – We are adding two shoulder slots for long firearms or melee weapons and a waist slot for short firearms, melee weapons, or tools.
- New Scavenging Options – Jerry cans and liquid pouches will be equippable instead of a backpack, making resource collection more flexible.
- Hotbar Rework – We are improving the hotbar system to display more details for smoother and easier gameplay.
- Network Optimizations – Reducing network traffic to minimize lag and improve performance.

Settlement Updates
- Auto-Populating Settlements – Settlements will now automatically receive incoming wastelanders, but random enemy encounters will also occur.
- Auto-Production Buildings – New structures that produce resources and items based on settlement population, enhancing settlement management.
- New Biome Atmospheres – We are adding new ambient sounds and visual effects to make the world feel even more immersive.

Faction Trucks and Their New Role
- New 3D Models – Faction trucks are getting updated models to better fit the game world.
- Cargo and Unit Deliveries – These trucks will play a greater role in the game, transporting faction units and supplies to various locations.

UI and Quality-of-Life Enhancements
- Various UI Improvements – We are refining interface elements to improve usability and make gameplay more intuitive.

This is just a preview of what’s coming in v0.6, and we still have more to refine and test before release. Your support and feedback continue to shape the game, and we are incredibly excited about what’s ahead.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We’ll keep you updated as we get closer to release!
