While JOY OF PROGRAMMING is mostly about automation, sometimes it is nice to retain some control over what our software is doing. The question how humans best interact with computers (called HCI) has been studied for quite some time. From Douglas Engelbart's invention of the computer mouse in 1963 to modern touch screens or AR/VR headsets, we are always trying to have intuitive interfaces between the user and the computer.
Why am I telling you all this? Because I recently implemented an exciting new feature that allows you to create your own graphical user-interfaces (GUIs) within the game! Here is a quick example.

With a mere 5 lines of code (3 of which are boilerplate), we can create a presentable looking GUI to toggle a lamp in this smart home setting.

Shoutout the creators of NiceGUI, which I integrated here.
This opens up a whole lot of new possibilities around creating custom dashboards, configuration interfaces, data visualizations and more! Let me know what you think, or if you have any questions!
