Hey everyone!
This update focuses on gamepad support, cleaner menus, and a bunch of fixes that make mini-games and upgrades feel smoother — whether you’re on keyboard, mouse, or controller.
What’s New
Controller support for mini-games
You can now play the mini-games more comfortably with a gamepad:
Platformer — move with stick / D-pad, jump with A, navigate menus with focus highlights
Flappy Drone — flap with A, clearer on-screen prompts, menus fully controller-friendly
Menus now show a clear focus highlight, so you always know which button is selected.
Collection (Bestiary)
The Collection screen is now controller-friendly too — scroll the list with stick / D-pad.
Smarter skill prompts on the TV
Active skill hints now match how you’re playing:
Keyboard → 1 / 2 / 3
Gamepad → X / Y / B
What’s Improved
Upgrades menu
Equipping skills is simpler and more reliable:
Skills in your set activate automatically — no separate Activate step
Loadouts save correctly after drag-and-drop / restart
Controller navigation through the skill store and pool is smoother
Skill descriptions refresh properly when browsing upgrades
Window & cursor
Removed the Always on Top option from window settings (it caused more trouble than it was worth)
Cursor stays hidden in gamepad mode (including the chest reward screen)
Fixed the annoying arrow ↔ hand cursor flicker on the TV frame
Main menu mouse clicks work normally again
Mini-game polish
Chugayster: movement, tunnels, and timing feel more consistent
Flappy Drone: waits for your first flap, better speed ramp, clearer A-button hint
Win / lose screens no longer steal focus unexpectedly
Typing intros can be skipped cleanly — text finishes and the keyboard sound stops
Bug Fixes
Empty upgrade slots after changing a loadout and restarting
Upgrade description panel showing placeholder text (UPGRADE_NAME, etc.)
Controller selection broken in Upgrades after a script load error
Drag-and-drop errors when placing skills into the set
Region splash / background showing the wrong area after a win
Various focus and input issues across menus and mini-games
Notes for Controller Players
Recommended flow:
Open a menu → move with stick / D-pad
Confirm with A
Back / cancel with B (or the Back button)
In upgrades: pick a skill → place it in a pool cell → it’s ready to use
Thanks for playing Bavovna included! and for all the feedback!
If anything still feels off on your pad, tell me — I’m continuing to polish input and UI.
