Hello Tasklings,
Thank you to everyone who has jumped into Task Time since we surprise launched the game last week! Your support and feedback means so much to us as we progress through this Early Access journey.
We've been carefully reading your feedback and reviews, and we're aware of a number of issues currently affecting the in-game experience. We are actively working on fixes to address these concerns which should help improve the overall performance of the game. Thank you for your patience as we make these improvements.
Known Issues & The Next Steps
Reports of Motion Sensitivity - We are investigating adding a reduced motion mode to alleviate reports of motion sensitivity. If this is something you have experienced, we are actively seeking feedback about what is making you uncomfortable, and what might help alleviate this. Please let us know in the comments below.
Reports of users experiencing visual stutters and networking issues - We are actively working on performance improvements and fixes to crashes.
Requests for a framerate limiter - This is something we are actively investigating. For now, we would recommend turning v-sync on.
Some players have reported high ping and lag in certain lobbies - To help improve this, we’re working on adding the host’s country to the server list.
Achievements not unlocking - Some achievements have not yet been fully implemented, we'll be finishing this work soon.
Controller Compatibility - Controllers should work perfectly during active gameplay, but their support in menus is not yet final. We're working on this.
v0.1.0.9 Patch Notes
We've also just pushed an update that changes and fixes the following:
Tasklings now never get too small they disappear inside themselves in tasks where player size changes.
Fixed a number of crashes.
Dev Comments: We're still aware of a smaller number of crashes beyond these, particularly when the game is run on lower-end hardware. We're working hard to fix them!
General optimisation across all aspects of the game.
Fixed a number of incorrect lines of text in a few languages.
Further optimisation of voice chat.
Turned Voice Chat off by default.
Dev Comments: We've made this change to protect your privacy, just in case you don't realise you've got your mic on when loading into a public match. Please make sure you set your voice chat settings before entering a match, as changes made during a match will not be reflected until the next one. We'll be fixing this soon!
Early Access Roadmap
For the players who want more content, we're pleased to share that new tasks will be coming next week!
This is in addition to the next roadmap major update coming in May which will introduce a new map (The Gallery) as well as new items and cosmetics. We will soon reveal more about The Gallery in an upcoming blog, and on our social channels, so please stay tuned for that!
Thank you for playing!
