Good afternoon, everyone!
This Monday, I attended a conference hosted by "Gaming The Mind", a charity focused on mental health in games. At this event, they handed me an award, recognizing the work behind "i love me, i love me not".
The game is far from perfect, but perhaps thats okay. Perhaps it's still good enough for people to find so much value in. This is what I'm still trying to convince myself of.
I've previously worked with this charity before to help ensure this game was going down the right path. I'm beyond grateful, not only for the ideas and feedback they shared, but also for the moral support I received from them.
An issue I, and many game developers face is finding motivation, scoping, chasing satisfaction/fulfillment, and ultimately burning out as a result. Gaming The Mind was a voice of support that pushed me to continue working as I was. They were the steady hands that cupped my flame of passion, keeping it alit.
They've believed in the message and direction of the game more than I do myself. This is something I will forever be thankful for.
Thank you to all the players who've also supported my game and my vision.
More to come!
All the best,
Malachi
