Fields Progress
Progress on the Fields level has been steady, however we had a problem with this level. We had to figure out how to make the player explore the different corners of the field and make sense of its open space. The solution we had for this is block the exit of the level with a mighty electrical barrier that cannot be crossed as long as it's blasting at full power. So, your objective is to find the sources that give it energy and destroy/stop them.
Now, I have to tread carefully here, the energy sources that feed the barrier are of the renewable sort, and you as a player can/have to destroy them. This is not a political stance I'm taking, I love renewable energy, I just think it's easy to explain to the player how this works and, of course, I also think it's cool to destroy stuff, the game is great for that.
Also, it shows how industrious and smart The Witches in Sorceress are. As we said many times, this is a science-fantasy game and the environment and technology present in the game ought to show it and take advantage of that.
As you explore the levels you will likely stumble across huge pipes that are carrying electricity and if you follow them to their source you will be guided towards the different landmarks of the level, and how you stop them from functioning is up to you.

This is the windmill and its interior, as you can see it's not made for milling grain, instead it's full of machinery and many enemies will be inside tending to it and likely won't be very friendly towards strangers.

This is the watermill, it's protected by a little fort and also has a path on top of it with an open floor that allows you to throw physics objects and explosives towards the paddles. You could also collect a bunch of weapons and throw them at the paddles but it's going to take you a while.

This little rundown shack is the structure that contains the solar tubes. The whole structure can be entered and rotated which is something you'll need to do to get to the top and explore the adjacent paths as well.

Here is a little showcase of book technology:
A huge update to chainladders has happened thanks to a tutorial by the great Lusiogenic (someone I've been following for YEARS) and now I'm not only able to generate dynamic chain ladders but I'm also able to break them, so I have created rope ladders that can be destroyed and create all sorts of new interactions:
