Hi everyone! We hope you’re enjoying Empire Divided, but there are some things you may need to be aware of…
If you're having issues where the new campaign map is not showing up on the menu, you're seeing missing unit models or anything else that might be out of place make sure you do these two things to fix them:
Opt out of the patch_17 beta on Steam. That version of Rome II is deliberately out of date to allow old mods to be used. You cannot play Empire Divided on anything other than the latest patch.
If you're a mac user and having issues launching the game, simply install the Patch_17 beta on Steam. Anyone who would prefer to use their mods rather than benefit from the Power & Politics update can also opt into Patch_17.
Finally, Disable and physically delete all installed mods by unticking them from your mod list. There's been a lot of updates with Empire Divided, your mods will not work anymore! Instruction on how to do are as follows:
1. Open Steam and go to your Profile on the right hand side
2. Then proceed to open the “Workshop Items” located on the right hand panel, then click Subscribed Items on the right
3. Once you’re on this page please select all mods related to Rome 2 and proceed to click the unsubscribe button
4. Now you have unsubscribed from the mods please proceed to do exactly the following
5. Open %appdata%/The Creative Assembly\Rome2 in the windows explorer address bar
6. To make sure your Saves are secure please copy them to somewhere else on your PC i.e documents folder
7. Once they are secure and please proceed to go back delete the Rome2 Appdata folder (Once you relaunch the game fresh it will recreate this)
For a completely free modded game (may take a while to reinstall)
8. Now paste the following into the windows explorer address bar “Your Drive”\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II\data
9. Proceed to delete everything in this folder just to be user all mods are completely deleted
10. After this is complete please verify your games files by the steam properties window, once complete it will redownload all files required for the game
11. Run the game and now it should be mod free
