I want to thank everyone who has given me feedback on my game! As mentioned earlier, I code everything by myself. It's just not possible for me to try every configuration of every possibility. Thanks to you, I have located and fixed every error presented on the Steam forums.
Here's some stuff to look forward to in Version 1.1 (released for free later this week).
SIGNIFICANT BUG FIX
Special thanks to Sosich on the Steam Forums for pointing out this bug. Sosich noticed that there was a game-breaking bug if you were able to obtain the upgraded sword before the fourth dungeon. This bug will be fixed in this update. I am not aware of anyone else who has experienced this glitch, but I wanted to get it patched ASAP.
EVALON BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT
I have gone through every location in the game and spruced them up with non-gameplay affecting graphics and assets. These assets will not affect the gameplay whatsoever. They just make the game look much prettier! Most caves and dungeons were updated with these assets. Please view some examples below.
Added additional details to walls, including cracks and lamps
More details added to walls to differentiate from floors
Dungeons and caves now look less game-y and more lived in
HUD UPDATED
The HUD has been bugging me for a while. A modified version of the HUD will be released with this update. I'd love to hear your feedback on it when it releases! I've made the text and images larger, for a more relaxed experience.
NEW/UPDATED ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS
You will now be able to modify the sound effects volume on the pause screen. When you start a new game, you will be prompted to select from 4 different game modes. There's Normal (recommended), Hard Mode, Speed Run mode, and Super Easy mode.
- In Hard Mode, you have 5 lives. If you lose those lives, your save file will be permanently deleted.
- In Speed Run Mode, you have only 100 minutes to beat the game. Once 100 minutes have passed, your save file will be permanently deleted. To make things harder, there is no in-game timer. Good luck!
- In Super Easy Mode, you start the game with an additional 100 HP. This is a great option for those who don't want to seek a challenge.
GENERAL POLISH
I've polished some minigames, various sprites and graphics, and changed a few character dialogues. None of these changes will affect the game significantly. This is just general polish.
THANK YOU!
Thank you once again for playing my game. I have learned so much while working on my first game. If you have any suggestions or encounter any glitches, do not hesitate to post on the forums! If you've been enjoying the game, feel free to leave a review. Thank you so much, and enjoy the rest of your week!
